I returned here after an almost 2 year hiatus. It feels familiar but yet I couldn’t help but notice a few changes. The playlist was tending towards more country style on this sunny afternoon in September 2025 Most notably, the toilet seemed to have gotten a do-over. It looked cleaner than in the past. Yeah!
Overall, I enjoyed a relaxing afternoon at the Corner Store.
Below are my thoughts on „waterfront“ breakfast options in San Pedro in general. Lighthouse Café, The Corner Store, Rex Cafe, Cafe at Doubletree Hotel and Colossus on Harbor.
Above places could be considered „waterfront“ breakfast places in San Pedro ?
Let me know if you have any yummy additions to my list?

Fall 2023: The staff is great. They want to get to know you and might even have your regular order ready before you are asking for it ;)
This store is an unexpected commercial gem in an otherwise residential neighborhood.
Summer 2023: The hot chai tea with milk on the side is $5.10 The cheddar chive scone is $5. It was not that fresh but they warmed it up in the microwave.

Read moreIf you're ever in San Pedro and craving a cozy neighborhood gem, The Corner Store on W 37th Street is a must-visit. This charming coffee shop blends small-town warmth with big flavor. The moment you walk in, you're greeted with friendly smiles, the comforting aroma of fresh coffee, and a curated selection of pastries that feel homemade in the best way.
Whether you're grabbing a latte to go or settling in for a quiet moment with a sandwich and a book, the atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed. It’s the kind of place where locals chat with the baristas by name and newcomers feel instantly at home. The attention to detail—from the quality of the drinks to the thoughtful service—makes it a standout in the San Pedro community.
Perfect for families, solo sippers, or anyone looking for a laid-back...

I'm sorry, but you cannot list something as being vegan without knowing for sure. A manager/owner (?) said, "I bought the menu this way and left it that way." Ok, but you are the one placing the orders, and you are the one responsible for making sure that the ingredients you are ordering for your vegan items are indeed vegan. How many vegans have paid and eaten there, thinking they were eating vegan, and ended up eating something that may have contained animal derived products. This is deceitful and ignorant. Know what you're selling and don't lie to your customers. It is...
