Best off-leash park in the Harbor area! Real grass (no wood chips), excellent trails, picnic tables where us regulars (& I'm sure other regulars at different times during the day) gather & socialize & welcome new additions to the crew with open arms. Not clique-y at all! Like an extended family, for real. Great group of dogs too, no problem pooches. All dogs, big & small, are free to roam several acres of open space. Rarely even the smallest of conflicts, & just a great group of responsible owners ready to nip any of that in the bud immediately. Most of the dogs know each other well. The park, situated at the Southernmost tip of San Pedro (Palos Verdes adjacent!) just below the Korean Bell & a stone's throw from Pt Fermin has an AMAZING view. Beautiful sunsets every evening, & on most days a clear view of Catalina Island. The weekends are a little less dog-centric, with families there to enjoy the cool ocean breeze, picnic, maybe fly a kite (great...
Read moreWent on a large carpentry quote in San Pedro and took the boyz with me. Afterwards, I had to check out the nearest dog park for the first time as they had waited very patiently. It's easily one of the most aesthetically pleasing parks I've been to. Hawks and crows glide and dive, dancing, hunting, and dating on the sea born currents. The verdant green grass and bluff is beautifully maintained and overlooks a wide swatch of the picturesque summer ocean, but it also occuppies quite a large open space. It's not a park to miss. Next time, I'd bring food to this lil dog haven and spend even more time here. A small downside would be no dedicated small dog area (that I saw) as my dogs definitely prefer smaller dogs. However, given that there's not a lot of people here, and the park is so large, you can easily take your dogs off into a small little area If dog socialization is not the primary motivation for going to this park. Kenji and...
Read moreThis's a great little hillside park on Paseo Del Mar that's off-leash dog friendly in the west part of the park. There's a poop bag stand but BYO just in case it's empty. Surrounded by beautiful views and every weather system heading in from the ocean to the mountains, passes here first. It's cool and breezy most of the year with chilly fog and drizzles happening all year'round. Dress in layers & keep coats, long pants, beanies & shoes in the trunk with picnic lunches & park blankets in case the weather turns to gray, wet fog everywhere before you're...
