Amazing place for the performing arts. A non-profit that restores your hope for humanity. Ultra friendly, inclusive, and helpful staff. Cute concession stand with delicious local beer by FrogTown Brewing; had the Blonde and IPA, they were top notch. All-gender restrooms are a huge plus. The decor everywhere is so cool and visually stimulating. The theatre is quaint and intimate. I saw Mae Martin here and it was a treat to be so close to the performer. If a performer that you like is playing here, SEE THEM!

Great little (and I mean tiny) space for live entertainment. Not a bad seat in the house. Staff is incredibly friendly and checked us in quickly. One downside: only street parking is available, and no dedicated parking lot. Nearby lots are for other businesses and are chained off.

Terrific place to see live theater on the eastern edge of Hollywood. Intimate, small theater, ample and free street parking. See their website for show info and classes. They also have open mic nights and plenty of improv. We saw "Fresh Fish", it was a lot of fun.

Unlike big Hollywood venues, this spot offers an intimate, creative, and community-driven experience, making it a favorite among LA’s underground arts scene.

🌟 Why It’s Worth Visiting 🎭 Home to Indie & Alternative Comedy – Catch offbeat stand-up, improv, and experimental performances in a cozy, intimate setting. 🎶 A Space for Creative Artists – The venue hosts musical acts, theater productions, and avant-garde performances you won’t find anywhere else. 🌆 Laid-Back, Local Vibe – Located in Frogtown, away from the Hollywood chaos, it’s a spot where artists and audiences can truly connect. 🍹 BYOB-Friendly Shows – Some events allow you to bring your own drinks, making for a fun, casual night out.

✅ Pro Tips for Visitors ✔ Best Time to Visit: Check their website or social media for upcoming shows—many performances sell out quickly. ✔ Parking: 🚗 Limited street parking—arrive early or take a rideshare for convenience. ✔ Nearby Eats & Drinks: Grab a bite before or after at Spoke Bicycle Café or Salazar, two fantastic local spots. 🌮☕ ✔ Perfect for: Comedy lovers, indie theater fans, and those looking for a unique night out away from the touristy LA scene.

Perfect intimate venue to see some great comedy & shows. It was comfortable, had the AC or fans going so even with a full house it was a good temperature. There is free street parking right outside the venue, and a short walk on close streets if it fills up. The venue seems to hold under 100, so all seats are a great view. Looks like most shows are GA and seat you as you get in, came about an hour early, was second in line and got front row. They sold candies, water, beer during the show. And merch. Close to some fun little places in Frogtown that you can eat at if you get there early enough. To get to the bathroom or snack bar/merch area you do need to go down about 3-4 stairs, so not fully accessible, but there is an accessible public restroom a few minute walk down the street at a...

Oh my god, what a delightful af place to see live comedy.

I've only been to this theater twice during trips to LA, but boy, if I lived in town, I would likely be coming here at least 3x per week. The best lineups I have seen outside of Union Hall and Bell House, with consistent great talents coming through for one-off shows and longer running performances. The theater itself, a little off the beaten path, is a smaller, black-box space, but wow, what a wild and fun time.

Make sure to stop by for any (and or all) performances at the Elysian, and support local comedians! They're doing...
