The Family Bakery — Restaurant in Los Angeles

I am so disappointed in this bakery. I have been going to them for the last 5 years, I have three kids so every party we have we buy a cake from them. I came in on a Friday afternoon and asked about a custom cake, the lady that helped me said I had a week to order a custom design. I came in with a certain character in mind thinking they would be able to recommend something for me since they make cakes for a living. The lady wasn’t very helpful in telling me what my options were so I decided to come back once I knew what I wanted. I came back the next day on Saturday to order a cake for the following week since she said I had a week to order. I even asked if I could come back the next day and she said yes. So, I come back in on Saturday (the next day) like she said I could and then they say they can’t make me a custom cake after she said the day before she could. So now I’m stuck, they were my go to bakery, but now I have to find a new bakery. I will never purchase a cake from them again or recommend this place to anyone. I had a fantastic experience at The Family Bakery! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I had my heart set on a particular cake, but unfortunately, they had just sold the last one. I was a bit disappointed — until they offered to make a fresh one for me on the spot!

To my surprise, they had it ready in just 15 minutes, and it was absolutely delicious — moist, flavorful, and beautifully decorated. You don't see that kind of service every day. Place is a hit or miss. Placed an order for a cake 350. When I told my sister the price she said that for same style cake she paid 250. Delivery was scheduled and they came about 1 hour late. Cake itself was beautiful. Flavor was ok, a little dry. The people are sometimes nice and other times very short. I gave it 3 parchases (over 1k) but after the last bad customer service, I now just go to Porto’s. I called for pricing on chocolate strawberries and it sounded like I was bothering them.
