The Tomato Patch is a delightful family-ran hole-in-the-wall deli restaurant. It's tucked back in an alcove, out of sight and not very easy to spot unless you know where to look or are using a navigation platform to find it like I did. The four women that are constantly crafting fresh, healthy, delicious dishes are ALL extremely hard-working, friendly, and helpful. They aim to please, but also don't take smut from entitled jerks either. They'll even cut the crust off of your precious little picky eater's grilled cheese sandwich for you with a genuine smile. I want to add that there is a man (most likely a family member) who is usually hanging around, sitting outside in one of the chairs stopping in periodically to shout at them although I never see him work or offer to help... I digress! I've been coming here any chance I get since my twin pregnancy when I was craving all the healthy, delicious foods and not finding many quality options nearby. The menu is full of delicious options, although I must recommend the BLT, broccoli soup, and tuna/avocado/egg salad. Patrons who eat in are treated to a tasty sample of their vanilla and chocolate frozen yogurt as well after finishing their meal. Most items were between $8-$14. The half sandwich & half soup-or-salad is a deal at $10! The dining area is very small, likewise are the tables inside and out. I prefer eating outdoors in the courtyard for fresh air and space, although eating inside with all of the tantalizing smells isn't so bad unless you come in a group of 3+. There is also a display/beverage fridge with many options to choose from. The parking lot here is large although it's usually packed and the spots are tight if you have a full size SUV. I've seen a security guard patrolling the complex. You'll need a key to use the building's restrooms located toward the rear of the complex. The downstairs women's restroom has only one toilet, but there are two toilets upstairs. Thank you ladies for always serving heaven on a plate with a smile!...
Read moreI think this may be the same place that I used to eat at, nearly every day, back in 1985, 1986, when I worked at Women Only Gym. At that time, the Tomato Patch, was open to both, the outside patio and the inside of the gym. I always ordered the tuna sandwich, nearly every day, along with an amazing frozen yogurt treat. The two ladies, I wonder if they are the same ladies, were so wonderful to me. They were so pleasant to be around. It was such a relief, since the rest of the others in the gym, at that time, I'm sorry to say, were not. They made my every day work day there, tolerable and warm. I do hope they are the same people. I moved far away in 1987 and have not had the chance to go back and visit recently. I think I will, next time I'm visiting. I hope they're the same wonderful people that served me 30 plus years ago. I would love to see them again and enjoy an amazing home made...
Read moreI've been coming here for a while now, and so I'm sure they noticed my face from time to time, but this time, i spent 20, including a tip, just for a sandwich and a drink. I noticed my pickles and tomatoes were bad, which gave a nasty bitter taste to my whole sandwich. They knowingly put together a sandwich with old food, which you can tell by the color of pickles and tomatoes and sprouts. Just for that, they lost a customer. Now I have to let my friends know that this place is no good anymore. Truly sad. Thought this was a place you could trust to make good food....
