Trattoria del Sole & Market del Sole — Restaurant in Los Angeles

This is one of my absolute favorite spots. The staff is great! And I mean great! I love almost everything I have had from their menu. And believe me, I've tried almost everything at one point or another. Let's talk food- the arugula salad with their amazingggg lemon dressing is always a must for me. Their pizza and the crust is perfection. It's not thick or dry or too doughy, it tastes home made. I've tried a variety of their pizzas and so far have enjoyed them all, to the point of craving it the next day. The fried calamari is nice and crispy, but the spicy tomato sauce it comes with is the highlight. The Burrata salad is another I get each time, it comes with heirloom tomatoes and a refreshing lemony dressing. Absolutely delicious. The calamari grigliata salad which is 3 grilled uncut calamaries over the arugula salad and the octopus/polipo are another group favorites, literally part of every order. My husband has had the lasagna which he said was really good. The branzino is phenomenal! And that's that. The cioppino is another favorite. I try cioppino most everywhere we go, and truly this was spot on! They have good wine selection and a store inside you can shop to make your next favorite Italian dish at home. I ordered the risotto, which is terribly overpriced, for delivery and it never got here. When I called the restaurant, they were only interested in telling me it was not their fault. They told me to order through a different delivery service next time as this one (Chow Now) has proven to be unreliable in the past. It was only when I questioned why it was on me, the customer, to know which of the delivery services the restaurant has chosen to work with would not deliver in a timely fashion (or at all) that he uttered the word sorry. And not to acknowledge any responsibility. I can't tell you if the food is any good because it never arrived, even though the restaurant claimed it was picked up by the driver (an hour late). Still no apology from the restaurant or Chow Now. It was only after I got angry that they even offered...

Pretty disappointing experience. Called. Made a reservation for 8. I show up for my reservation and they have me down for 3 people. For whatever reason they either heard three or their pen ran out of ink and showed a reservation for 3 instead of 8. However I’m not sure how they get 3 from 8 over the phone… anyways now trying to move on from the clear misunderstanding or mistake, their resolution was no resolution. We would have waited for some kind of opening, but no. Their answer to us was we cannot seat you. * there were only two tables being occupied. It was 5pm, they were not busy. And we would have made it work… we were willing to make it work. It’s too bad how they dealt with the situation. I wouldn’t trust reservations made...
