It's unfortunate that my visit today was a letdown. I placed an order online today for the shaking beef and one order of the 3 egg rolls. About 10 minutes later, I noticed an incoming call, but no message was left. I had no idea who it was. Another 10 minutes went by, and I arrived to pick up my order. When I got into the store, I saw about 3 other customers in there, and the staff looked like they had nothing going on. So I figured my order was ready for pickup.
I was second in line, and when I got to the register, I told them I had an order for pickup. They found my tag and told me they didn't have any beef and that I should make a substitute for either chicken or pork ( now the missed call made sense). I asked if they were going to charge me less for this reason, and the worker seemed like I was asking for free food or something and told me, "No." I'm pretty sure the shaking beef was the more expensive item since it's a premium meat here. Which confused me. I wasn't sure how they were going to prep the food, so I just went with pork as the substitute.
I waited another 5 minutes for them to prep my revised meal and went home. The box seemed warm, and I was eager to try the food. It smelled good.
I get home and open the box to find the basic grilled pork over white rice with a side of veggies and all the supplies ( napkins, fork, spoon, chili sauce, soy sauce, sweet and sour for the egg rolls, hot sauce, and chop sticks) were included along with my 3 tiny egg rolls garnished with lettuce. The pork was fatty and kinda tough. Looked and smelled decent. But it was no shaking beef quality. No sauce. I was very disappointed. If I knew this was the case, I would have canceled my order and went somewhere else.
I normally love eating here. The menu today was very limited even online. A lot of the choices were not available, especially for 3 pm on a Wednesday. Which is very close to the weekend and right before dinner, which should be the busier time when things run out.
The staff seemed careless today and in no rush. I'm beginning to reconsider this restaurant as a top choice in this limited town of choices available. You guys need to step up your game. For the $26 that I spent today, I could have gotten much better service somewhere else with more food on my plate. I really hate putting bad reviews, but today was my limit on what I can tolerate.
I hope the manager sees this review and does something. You charge premium prices for "meh" quality food, and you will...
Read moreFinally a pho place in town to go to!!! Decided to give it a go being its a new place and heard a lot of good reviews about it and in person talk from others.
The inside of the place is small but that's ok, there are some pho places that are small so no big deal. Not too loud, place was clean and up to par. Menu is a bit small but their soup variety was good.
My husband ordered the beef pho: Eye round steak, flank, well done brisket. He loved it, said it had a very good savory taste with a good amount of meat inside.
I ordered chicken pho, only downfall was that they were out of chicken broth for the chicken pho so he had substitute it with beef broth. I was a Lil stepped away as I was not sure if I should try it like that given I've never had beef broth on chicken pho before 🤔. One of the customers who was eating had overheard my convo with the worker so she said, I tried it like that right now and it's pretty good n she never had it like that either...well after hearing her side I ended up being convinced so I told the server to go ahead and give me the beef broth with the chicken pho. Also I ordered the spring rolls with the shrimp, it was good as well. Comes with the peanut butter sauce to dip, was a bit liquified but it still had the peanut butter taste which was good. The chicken pho with the beef broth was pretty good surprisingly 😵 broth had a good savory taste, authentic. The amount of chicken served was good as well. We took ours to go so thus the reason I took the pics with the containers. Husband dug in his fast...lol sorry no pics of the beef pho.
Overall, customer service was friendly. A young guy had helped us. Pho overall was very good, noodles and broth was just right. Giving it a 4 star due to fact that they ran out of chicken broth for the chicken pho. Was told that they run out through out the day. I've been to a lot of pho places and from experience it can get busy as well as chicken pho is one of the popular soups. Feel like it should always be in stock in all honesty. Totally understand it's a new business that just opened and is barely establishing in our town. Just an advice that I'm giving. We will be back again. Hope in the future u will have chicken...
Read moreUnfortunately, I was not so lucky. Was it a fluke? Or, am I just rolling the dice, and playing an odds game here. Like, 4 out of every 5 meals, you'll hit a bad one. I should hope this restaurant's percentages would be better. Having tried the restaurant for the very first time, I certainly didn't have beginner's luck. Enticed by having looked at an advertising menu - which displayed vivid colors of tantalizing sizzling meat, bright looking healthy rice - accompanied by cucumber, and, a small salad, and, along with a savory appearance of fried egg, I actually found - when I was served - a very bland entreè. Boy, was I disappointed. And, of course, you shouldn't judge a book by its cover, but, disappointingly, the looks matched the taste. No fault of the cucumber, or, small salad, but, that's not what you're paying for. The meat was very dry and gristily. In fact, you could easily see the ridge lines of the gristle. How could the cook not see this? That is . . . it was a 'Cook,' that cooked this . . . right? The rice was also very dry as well. And, the fried egg? Well, it wasn't going to save the plate either. It certainly didn't look anywhere near the photograph. Come to think of it, it looked like the meal had been sitting around for a couple days, and was reheated. Or, maybe, I just got the 'model,' that had been on the display. If that was the case, they may redeem themselves,as this would be the exception, and, not the rule. I should hope - for their business's sake - that would be the case.
To add fuel to the fire - so to speak - when I complained to the manager, he said he couldn't...
