Update: I gave this location another chance.... what's with the cook walking out after I placed my order? Did I really have to wait 30 min for their order while the cook takes a break? And yes it's the same cook who served me my greasy McDonald's grade burger.... what a shame. And if the "owner" wants to blame this on covid then I can see that it is a Blake's organizational policy to sell low grade burgers for a high price.
I've been going to Blake's for over 30 years. It's good quality food, except lately there has been a decline in service. I just hope that it's just this location and not all of them. I do hope they work on their customer service. I still say it's the best green chili burger in the usa. Let's keep the good name that has lasted for generations good. Don't let bad customer service get in the way...

We waited a good 7 minutes before even being helped when there was no one in front of us. Most people had to wait roughly 20 minutes for their food. I've had mine before in as little as 10. Nobody on the staff seemed rushed, despite the amount of people (clearly on their lunch break) repeatedly looking at watches or cellphones to glance at the time.
We normally have good experiences there, but yesterday was ridiculous. They weren't understaffed either, just.. you could tell they were tired and no desire to want to be there.
Hopefully it was just a rough day, but we will see. It is the only Blake's close enough to go...
Read moreThis is for the 4th and El Pueblo location. Though they aren't as large as I remember in the past I still think Lota Burger has the best breakfast burritos in Albuquerque. Of course this doesn't include the abuelita's tiny store front small business. I'll tell you, the secret is in the hash browns, cooked crispy and brown, not the potato mush others use. The second reason is the eggs are fried up to order, not pre built and stored. The third reason is the chile, tasty, but not overbearing. This Lota Burger on 4th and El Pueblo is my favorite, I hope they never renovate it and always have the big red umbrellas on the tables outside! The workers were nice and seemed to be having a great time pulling in cash for the owners, good service with a smile...
