My husband and I went there for lunch today. The staff was super friendly and our server, Holly, was amazing! As for the food, my hubby and both agreed the fried cheese curds were amazing and the potato salad was super.
After that, we both had a different experience. He got the pork sandwich and I got the brisket. My hubby said it was way to greasy, so Holly, without hesitation, offered to get him something else so he got the pulled chicken. He didn't like that either - said the flavors had a 'funk' taste to them. Holly did everything she could to help him have something fantastic, but unfortunately for him this was already a "let's give this place one more try" lunch.
I am very picky about brisket because it grosses me out when it's too greasy/fatty, and Holly assured me we could get it lean. Mine had a pool of grease under the meat as well but the meat itself was lean and fantastic!
I'm super bummed my husband does not want to come back for a meal, but he did say he would still come back to have a beer and the cheese curds again - a BIG deal for him. YAY!

Read moreI went to the BBQ festival in Sevierville, Tenn on May 21 and I ordered food from food truck. The ribs I ordered was tough and the membrane was not removed. Any basic smoker know this need to be performed. The smoked pork and the smoked chicken had very little smoked flavor. For the price I paid and it was doubled based on the restaurant prices it was not worth it. I inquired why the membrane was not removed and I was told that the ribs were delivered frozen and they did not have time to remove. If I was the owner, i would be embarrassed to serve food not up to par.
I was not offered a refund or replacement food as you stated. As a person who smokes food on a routine basis, I know that the membrane should be removed on the ribs and my smoke pork and chicken have a more smoked flavor than what i got...
Read moreIn the South, it isn't hard to find a place nearby that serves barbecue. Then there are good barbecue places, just might take a bit more time and require traveling some distance. Sons of Smoke is neither - it is an exceptionally good barbecue restaurant, head and shoulders above the rest. I ordered the sampler plate (3 meats, 2 sides). I chose pulled pork, brisket and 2 ribs with baked beans and mac 'n' cheese (cole slaw, potato salad, and fries also options). The plate was loaded, very generous portions of meat and sides. The two ribs were very meaty and it pulled easily right off the bone. Everything was cooked perfectly. If you are a barbecue fan and have the chance to eat here, do not miss it. I really can't say enough good things about this place - Sons of Smoke is...
