I'll start by saying we frequent this Dickies location every Wednesday, however I've seen a decline over the last year in both the food and the employees attitudes. So much so in fact I don't know that we will be going back solely on account of employees attitudes. The last two times we went they were out of multiple Coke items in the Coke machine and we are talkin mainstream items here nothing out of the ordinary. To make matters worse they were also out of various condiments and containers which you put sauces or other condiments in. This is most certainly not due to them being overburdened with patrons because this location is rarely busy. And now for the Ultimate Nail in the coffin, the employees! I've never been in a establishment where the employees make you feel like you're bothering them to place an order, they are not all like this but more often than not they place the ones with the worst attitude taking orders. I believe this to be the most dejecting part of the whole experience and frankly one we will not endure again. The food by far doesn't warrant anyting special nor repeat business, the meat is often dry and flavorless along with the sauces being heavily vinegar-based. There's an awful lot of potential here being squandered away by employees and mismanagement. Also their meats tend to be bottom of the barrel Select Grade which is often riddled with fat that you pay for by way of weight on every one of...
Read moreThe food itself is good. Not great - a little dry, but I'm from Texas so I'm probably pickier than most. But for the area, it's good enough it's worth coming back for. And the only reason this review has stars. The service itself sucks. I've gone in store, no one ahead of me except an online order I guess. The 2 food prep staff were focused on it and ignored me and my fiancé. The cashier was MIA. We waited and timed 5 minutes. Then left and ate elsewhere. So today (a week later) we tried an online order. Went in to pick it up. One couple in line but at the cashier. The people making food heard I had a to go order, directed me to the busy cashier, then walked to the back. The cashier acknowledged me but instead of handing me my order real quick, put gloves on to get a side together for the couple. So I waited while my already bagged and waiting order got cold. Seriously all she needed was 2 seconds to hand it over. This place would be better if the employees ever incorporated teamwork into their environment. As it is, the customers suffer and they'll lose my business if...
Read moreToday is 1-4-2020. We bought four 2 meat plates from Dickeys in Moss Bluff with 2 sides with each. Everything was delicious. The cole slaw was perfect. Not too much mayo that makes it runny. Baked beans, ribs, chicken and rice dressing ( which wasn't listed on the Web site) was the best barbecue plate I have eaten in this area. Food is subjective. Our family does not care for heavily seasoned food. Dickeys was just seasoned enough to be flavorful but not too much to where a 2 y/o couldn't eat it. It was perfect. Each and everything on the plate was perfect. The chicken wasn't a half chicken like other places, instead it was sliced white meat that was flavorful and moist. The portions weren't gigantic, but the quality was first rate.
I read the other reviews before deciding to give Dickeys a try. With the mixed reviews I wasn't expecting the great tasting meal we received.(I especially was fond of the rice dressing. Not too much pepper). Needless to say, we will return...
