Dutchtown Las Palmas Méxican Restaurant — Restaurant in Louisiana

Not sure what people see in this place. I don't leave negative reviews lightly, but after eating at probably every location around here throughout the years, it is honestly just not very good. We never choose to eat here on our own, only when someone wants to go for a birthday or group. Let me say the service has always been great, it is just that mexican food is better everywhere else. We were actually going to not eat and go somewhere else after we left but the timing of the get together made that difficult so we figured we would give it another shot. Me and my wife both chose the el Mexicano which included a chicken chimichanga covered in a fairly disgusting red sauce, two chicken enchiladas in a sour cream sauce, chicken taco, beans and rice. The big issue here is the same dry, bland chicken was used in each of the items, and the dry flavorless chicken has remained a constant throughout the years. The beans and rice were ok at best, nothing special. The chips and salsa are again, not as good as other places. This may just be us but we prefer the thin tortilla chips served at most places, not the thick chips served here. Salsa was runny and bland. Obviously some people like it or they would not be in business any longer, but when compared to Saritas or Casa Marias, in out opinion, Las Palmas...

This is the worse place ever, the employees are no help, I came in and waited at the pick up order section by the door for about 10 mins as the 3 female receptionist stand there and chat and a few male employees sat down and walked around as there were only about 3-4 tables with people,an employee walked by and said what are you here for door dash? I replied yes and he answered ok it will be a few minutes.15 mins pass and i asked one of the female receptionist can you go see what’s taking my order so long I been here for over 15 mins for 2 items burrito and chips/dips which the order was made prior before I made it there,she came back and said they still waiting on the meat and I asked how long she replied 15mins, I replied I been here now for over 30 mins and it shouldn’t take that long to make a burrito with chips/dips,then 10 mins or so later another employee came and ask what did I order, I replied ,you don’t know what I ordered??? And the employees kept telling me 15mins??? So I told him the order and the name and he nod his head went in the back for around 5 mins and came back with the order. I advise do not go here if you like great customer service because most of the employees do not like what their doing. THEY TREAT DOOR...

Food is normally good as well as service... but as u know there's always a day where someone has a bad day and that's usually what's remembered. Called in order to pick up around 1130, once I arrived to pick up my order, I walked in and stood at the counter. Few workers walked pass me not saying a word. I had to ask another waitress, at the back kiosk, if there's someone that would be able to help. One of the male waiters came to the register to retrieve money from it, but didn't acknowledge me. Then when I asked him about drinks, his demeanor was as if I was bothering him. Anywho, I stood waiting a few more moments a young lady came to the counter and cashed out an order for my co worker. I needed to cash out mine but she would not do it because she didn't take the order I guess. So, I stood there another few minutes then another young lady (with red hair) came to the counter but nearly snatched the co worker's order thinking I received the wrong one, I went to take it back and told her it was mine also. (Inputs sarcasm) it was all good tho, cause I finally got my food; after she shoved it at me. (Exhales!) The few workers seemed disgusted and withdrawn today. Never experienced that from there, but everyone's entitled...
