I ordered food to be delivered since I'm working, so I regret being too hungry to take photos, because the food was packaged and presented beautifully.

I had the vegan ramen with a seasoned egg and the wasabi (firecracker) shrimp.

I give the vegan ramen an 8/10. The portion is amazing, the veggies are plentiful, the tofu was not so plentiful (and I prefer silken to fried in ramen), the broth was flavorful, but I tasted a smoky flavor which was off-putting for me. I say this because it made me think of pork, and anyone with dietary restrictions can understand a bit of mistrust/fear with trying a new place. Would love to see a spicy vegan version, and perhaps I'll go to the restaurant next time and just ask if they can leave off whatever made it smoky (possibly the brussel sprouts since the menu calls those smoke brussel sprouts?)

the wasabi shrimp was 6/10. The shrimp were nice and crispy, well presented on a bed of cabbage and orange (unique) and generously drizzled with a sauce, but they are not listed as gulf shrimp (which is hands down preferred) and I couldn't taste even a hint of wasabi. I'm not sure if I was given the wrong sauce, or if it's just that mild.

I did like that they put a little asian candy in my bag-- my kids love those!

Overall I still give 5 stars because I love the unique offerings and was impressed enough that I plan to bring the family there next time and try more. I was hesitant at first because of the Louisiana fusion items (like crawfish and cheese sauce and a few other things that make me go hmm), which made me worry they were pandering to the junk food crowd, rather than sticking to their delicious...

The soup dumplings were excellent. However the broth in the bowl of Ramen soup was very bland and tasteless. Quality of some of the vegetables in the ramen soup were not top notch either.

On the positive side the physical restaurant is very clean and well decorated. Staff are very friendly. However, the waiter should have noticed that the bowl of Ramen soup was not very hot when delivered to my table. I could understand him not knowing that the broth was weak and tasteless, but temperature should have been apparent at service time.

From the signage outside the place, it appears this is a new restaurant. Perhaps the management and kitchen staff need to work on improving their menus. Especially for the broth of their Ramen soups which should be top-notch considering it is the namesake of...

It's an odd place.

The food isn't bad, but it's not described correctly. The chicken teriyaki doesn't have teriyaki sauce. There is a tangy red sauce instead. It came with a side of zucchini sauted in olive oil with Italian herbs. The dish was fine in its own way, but not what I wanted when I ordered.

Also, we ordered fried rice. It wasn't fried, and it didn't have any soy sauce in it. The dumplings were swimming in a tasty sauce, but half the dumplings didn't have any filling.

The restaurant is set up like a dive bar with loud music coming from one speaker behind the bar. The front staff had a disagreement about receipts that could have been discussed in the kitchen, but they chose to do so publicly for 10 minutes at the bar. The staff seems to have good intentions but is in need...

The food was excellent - like out of place excellent for Dutchtown. The wings were off the charts amazing, gyoza was something special and Bao buns fantastic. Pork belly rice bowl was solid, though the tofu that came with it didn’t do anything for me. Also the drinks were overly sweet and pretty sure this is the first week our waiter had waited tables. Service was rough, but 10/10 for effort. Also it smelled like natural gas for the first 30 minutes we were there and it was hot and humid the whole time we were there. All in all, they have some kinks to work out but we will keep coming back as long as the food stays as spectacular as it was last night. A welcome addition to Dutchtown. I hope they can stay in business.

I’ve been meaning to visit this place for awhile after my brother mentioned them opening I think last year. Really glad I could convince my family to try this place out- the food is delicious and has a much wider variety than the name suggests. We ordered takoyaki, bao, and then a ramen and don buri bowl for our meal. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere and thankfully not overly loud or claustrophobic. The pricing was also quite reasonable for the portion sizes. Despite the building being a little tucked away, I’d really recommend giving this place a shot if you’re looking for authentic tasting Japanese food!

Thai iced tea was sweet and refreshing. The Bao Bao needs to be served quickly before it gets cold or steamed properly. The time affected the appetizer. For lunch, I pick the Spicy Miso Ramen. The flavor is there, but the broth tasted watery. Portion size for the price was good. I didn't like the noodles, so I'll subsitute next time. For dessert, I choose the Fried Banana Rice Cake Stick. It has a light banana taste. Even with the syrup it wasn't sweet. This place has other options and will return at a later time. Otherwise, the food is ok.
