We went on a Wednesday but the place seemed kinda empty which is sort of a bad sign but it looked clean enough so we had high hopes. I had heard the tortillas were made in house and good so I had those expectations. Wednesday special was fajitas so we got that. My wife and I got the shrimp and my son got the chicken. We also ordered a special margarita 22 oz. Everything was very disappointing except the margarita. The shrimp was overcooked and rubbery in addition to being super salty and over spiced. It was cooked and served with all onions and no green or red peppers at all. They served our fajita toppings and tortillas way too early so we sat there and stared at all this food getting cold that we couldn't eat while the meat cooked I guess. They really skimped on the toppings giving us mostly a bean soup with very little actual beans, and not enough cheese, sour cream, or rice to even make 3 fajitas. There was 7 shrimp. It was $14 a plate. The tortillas were not good and rubbery and cold as well. Everything too expensive to be this little of food and not even good tasting. The wait staff seemed very busy for hardly anyone there as it was difficult to even get water refills. Some other female server spent all her time with some table she obviously knew the customers and just laughing and being loud and no real service teamwork was observed. Our waiter was nice enough but he asked for a food review before I even had a chance to take my first bite. He said it was his first day. When I finally did tell him how much I disliked the food, nobody did anything about it. The waiter said "I relayed your feedback to the owner and he said he will let the kitchen know and hopefully it will be better next time." Sorry there won't be a "next time" for me unless it's just a margarita which was kinda pricey at $13 but very good. I'm not eating here again. There's just too much good food in BR to deal with this mediocrity and...
Read moreIf I do return (not likely though), it would be during the day. First of all, the day manager or owner (short guy, dark hair) is very courteous! He has a positive attitude, always smiling, and he seems as if he values his customers!During the day, the food is fresh and excellent in flavor! I would rate ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ if the overall experience was the same as my day visits.
But, the bad outweighs the good; and the good suffers for the actions of the bad. 🤦🏾♂️⭐⭐
NOW, on the other hand 😩, the late afternoon and evening manager or owner (tall, stocky built, blonde hair) has a very nonchalant and bias attitude. I went inside to pickup an order and I noticed he is selective in who he's courteous to. 😒😤 Since then, I always call-in my to go order and on numerous occasions, I had to wait 20 minutes or more for my order after he immediately came to the window to accept my payment. Once, I had to go inside to demand a refund after waiting more than 30 minutes for my order which made me late for work. After 20 minutes, I asked him how much longer and informed him that I will be late for work, he said "almost ready". That was another 15 minutes. Last experience I had; I called 15 minutes before closing and ordered a Grand Nacho. He asked could I be there before they closed? "Yes" I said. My order was ready! Fastest service from them by far! After I made it home, my order was ice cold🥶! Too late to return. So, at that point... NEVER AGAIN!!👎🏾🚫 "That guy" is a bigoted a**hole! I will never return to that particular location again. The Prairieville location on Airline Hwy is so much more...
Read moreI ate lunch here today, I was a tad apprehensive about going in because the outside didn't look too impressive. Once I went inside, I was pleasantly surprised. It was a nice atmosphere. I was seated quickly by a friendly server and chips, salsa, and a strange bean dip was brought to the table. Salsa was cold, bean dip warm. I liked them both.
I was a little disappointed in the size of the lunch menu, only about 6-8 items to choose from. And I didn't see anything I was crazy about. I won't complain too much tho', I'm a bit strange in what I like to eat. I ordered the shrimp tacos.
Beans were good, rice was fine, the biggest negative to me were the size of the shrimp, it was those little gumbo shrimp, and they didn't taste very good, I wouldn't say they were bad, just not what I was hoping for. Also, this is kind of a personal preference, but it was just tortilla, cheese, shrimp, and avacado. I like all the trimmings.
To sum it all up, I'll be back, but not much, I just didn't see much that I liked, but I would recommend the place, they have the general foods most people are looking for, and service was excellent...
