"Not Wok" My husband and I frequent many Chinese takeout establishments and THIS was the most disappointing of all of the Baton Rouge, Ascension and Livingston Parishes. The ingredients barely passed as its own dish. The following were ordered: PuPu Platter There was only one rib, a dry old Chinese marinated meat on a stick, greasy crab ragoons that seeped out grease when bitten into, the shrimps were sad, extremely sad that it was even in this plaster... maybe we shouldn't have expected more, especially with the name of the title.
Chow mein- there was no fried noodles, so when my husband called, the person who answered the phone was adamant that the fried wonton wraps was it! SERIOUSLY?
Sweet Sour Triple... what was sweet sour?
Sweet and sour pork was all breading with a little bit of pork.... where was the sauce to make the dish happen? We received a small compote to only cover 3 breaded nugget.
There was a container of a few small shrimps and pieces of chicken drowning in a bath of brown sauce and onions...
The "house speciality " soup consist of whatever vegetables and protein that was leftover placed in a soup broth... wow.
The rice was old and had a stench. We know times are tough, but there's no reason to try to fool your customers.
THIS is a NOT Wok. Offended that they thought they cook menu items with ridiculous substitutes and adamantly lie when we...
Read moreNever again. We have supported this particular location from the day they opened. Even happy when the manager received her photo in a magazine. This evening, despite them having zero customers, part of our food was undercooked while the other half was overcooked. For example, the 'chicken on a stick' was either so old or so over done that my son, very fittingly, asked if he could have "one of the beef jerkey on a stick." It amazes me how these businesses will raise prices while simultaneously lowering portion AND quality. It just isn't okay, and this was our last time...
Read moreI’ve ordered from this restaurant many times. I placed an order that included egg rolls. Eggs rolls that are not only PICTURED with sweet n sour sauce, but I have received sauce every time I’ve ordered. I called the restaurant, and instead of saying they made a mistake, they claimed egg rolls are not served with sweet n sour. In what universe, of Chinese food, is that accurate? It’s one thing to make a mistake. It’s quite another to be lied to as a customer. Pathetic. It’s sauce, I get it. Don’t be dishonest about it; you chose your own photos for Waitr (eye roll).
UPDATE: Received a text asking if I wanted to pick up the sauce they said didn’t come with the dish after I stated I would no longer...
