We had a lovely dining experience the evening of 1/23/21. We were seated promptly with our reservation, and I liked the attention to covid rules. My wife ordered a split of Maschio Prosecco and I ordered a glass of Antinori Pepoli Chianti. Troy, our server, was attentive without pretension, was energetic, and had answers to all our questions. His assistant, who seemed to bus and attend every filled table, was equally but delightfully capable. My wife ordered the minestrone, which she still believes to be the best in the city, and I ordered the stuffed mushrooms. The vegetables added individual as well as total flavor without covering the crab flavor of the stuffing. Troy brought over some hot cylinder rolls, covered in seasoned parmesan, which served well to sop up the stuffing sauce. For entrees she ordered the spaghetti and meatballs; and I, my favorite dish here, the Frutti Di Mare. The angel hair and rich marina was served on the side, and Fausto has an exception version. The main dish was pure seafood: fish, calamari, shrimp, oysters, mussels, and clams in a light reduction sauce. It is still my favorite. We took home about half the entrees, and passed on dessert. We were there maybe an hour to hour and a quarter. It was a fine experience and recommend it without question if you are into local Italian cuisine.

This place is cozy and buzzing with patrons. The wait was very short for our party of 3 even though the restaurant was mostly full. This was recommended by a local and I was absolutely not disappointed. I knew from the moment we walked in that our meal would be fantastic. After we were seated, our drink orders were taken and we were able to look at the menu. The lighting was a little lower than I normally like it but the menu was not difficult to read. We ordered the Arrancini to start with and it was perfect for sharing with 3 people. I wish more Italian restaurants would serve this dish instead of the standard mozzarella sticks (which I will always love). We each ordered different plates for our main course. I had the veal saltimboca, my lady had the eggplant parmigiana, and our friend ordered the chicken marsala. Everything came out beautifully and everyone cleared their plates. Then at the end of the meal we split a tiramisu because while we were stuffed, we couldn't leave the place without having something a little sweet. I will, without a doubt, come back to this wonderful establishment. It reminded me of summer trips to see my family in New York City. The food was delicious and our service was top notch. 👌 (photo shown is my cleaned plate)

I found another “go to restaurant”, I loved everything about it! I’ve been to Irene’s in the quarter, loved it and wanted to try Fausto’s because it was originally owned by her brother, both are true Italian restaurants. I’ve been to many French restaurants that specialize in escargot but I have to say that here it was close to the best I’ve had. It was on as a special for the day and so glad I tried it. I also had the Linquine alle Vongole as a main which was perfect. Clams are not a popular dish in New Orleans but when I saw it on the menu I had to try it. Our waiter Damien was such a pleasant and made our dinning experience there even better. If you like genuine Italian you must try this place!

we went here based on a recommendation and were highly disappointed. after we sat down, we weren't greeted, welcomed nothing

finally after 20 mins we asked if anyone was coming at all - the waiter finally came and we ordered eggplant parmesan, veal parmesan manicotti. we also started off with the seafood balls which didn't taste anything like seafood and were the worst part of the meal

the portions size was average but the flavor was lackluster -- and then the waiter came by and asked us a question that had racist undertones

overall - extremely poor service and underwhelming food. i would recommend than no POC visit here if they want to feel comfortable or enjoy their...

It was so/so. 1st; parking is VERY scarce. We went beacause someone in our group of 5 goes there all the time and is known. Considering this, service was acceptable but nothing special. We received 9complimentary bread basket with TWO pieces of italian bread. Altho appreciated, there were 5 of us. We did ask for more which another 2 came out with our meal. I got a special with shrimp, artichoke hearts and angel hair with lemon butter. Artichoke hearts were marinated & vinegary from a jar, very mushy. Shrimp were jumbo and there were 10 on the plate! Impressed visually but they had that chemical taste. I only ate a couple. I can't explain it, iodine, preservatives, or STP chemical? $26 when you add the salad. Someone got a redfish special with a side of angel hair. The pasta was very dry, barely pink like it had been dipped in sauce, put in a bowl and left to dry under heat lamps. He didnt touch it. Portion sizes are average, you will leave satisfied but will finish your plate. They had water service replenishing our glasses but the waiter never came back to check on us to see if we needed anything or more drinks until the end to see if we wanted dessert and then chatted up our friend, sucking up for a big tip I assume. The place was packed so reservations are a must. Maybe stick with their traditional...
