HI-Do Bakery — Restaurant in Louisiana

I won’t be going back there ever! My first time going there I walk in and they started saying “what you need”. Rushing me even though I didn’t know what to get because it’s my first time. So eventually I pick couple of sweets I reach for my credit card and the guy says we don’t take “credit cards We have an ATM machine over there in the corner”. I’m like what’s!? Very cheap people they don’t take credit card transactions Because they don’t want to pay transaction fees so instead they let the customer use the ATM that charges $2 or $3 !! To me it’s not always about the money I personally go to medium or high class bakeries as long as you are generous to the customer I am hooked. This is the spot I look forward to every time we come to New Orleans! The croissants are absolute perfection- crispy flaky outside with a soft pillowy inside. I would be drooling thinking about it if I hadn't just eaten my fill!

I always love going to a business where the owners are hands on and involved, and Kim or one of her family members is always there to greet you and take your order!

My favorites are the breakfast ham and cheese, bavarian cream with chocolate frosting, and the almond croissant! I have not found a better version of these items anywhere, and I have tried many times!

Yesterday in this place the owner treated me very harshly. She posted on a glass window that “ you can’t use your phone in her store” which I think may not be legal in the USA. While I was holding my phone she actually insisted that I needed to take my phone out of my ears in order for her to serve me as a customer. While I hold my phone I insisted I wasn’t on the phone , it was on hold . Even though I like the bread but I don’t like the rudeness I was shown yesterday and as a regular customer to that bakery for the last6 years , she definitely lost me as a customer.
