I don’t usually write reviews, but our experience at Meaux Jeaux’s Pizza in Metairie, Louisiana deserves to be recognized. We visited Meaux Jeaux’s with my father-in-law, who was recovering from a recent liver transplant and had very limited mobility. What we found wasn’t just great food—it was heartfelt care and hospitality.
The moment we pulled into the parking spot…way before we walked in, the owner noticed his condition and went out of their way to accommodate him.
They quickly adjusted seating to make access easier for his wheelchair and made sure he was comfortable the entire time.
What truly stood out was the owner’s personal involvement. When my father-in-law had to ditch the wheelchair and needed to use the restroom, the owner didn’t hesitate—he walked with us down a long, old, narrow hallway and made sure my father-in-law was okay every step of the way. He didn’t just open a door—he showed compassion, patience, and human kindness you don’t often find.
Oh yeah, the food? Incredible. Crisp, flavorful crust, fresh toppings, and piping hot—classic New Orleans flavor with some extra soul. But, it was the way we were treated that made this visit unforgettable.
Meaux Jeaux’s isn’t just a pizza place—it’s a place that takes care of people. In a time when service often feels transactional, this was personal, thoughtful, and deeply appreciated.

Read moreI am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the service. STRICK ONE: I wanted a THIN crust pizza which a Meaux Jeaux's counter wait staff replied, "we don't have thin crust. The owner doesn't like us to monkey with his crust!" I was cut off guard by his remark. Thin crust is on the menu, but couldn't oder it. I was told that the crust is thin enough. HUH? I am playing along in the ordering process and will order a pizza "with the thin enough crust" because it has great reviews and my dining party enjoys Meaux Jeaux's. STRICK TWO: Comment about owner to a POTENTIAL NEW customer. Lame excuse! STRICK THREE: No ancovies were available so I ordered the spicy meaux jeaux on the "thin enough pizza". No big deal about the anchovies. Menu options have changed since Covid. Changes to ingredients was noted on the menu. My "thin enough crust" came considerably later than my friends. It WASN'T a" thin enough crust" so I scrapped all the toppings off the'not so thin enough pizza', and ate it like a keto bowl pizza :) THE TOPPINGS WERE TASTY and FRESH, but by the time I was served my pizza I was disgusted by my ordering experience :( If I had the option of a thin crust pizza then I might have enjoyed it! The Fig pizza on the THIN CRUST option would be delightful! However ,since dere was no monkeying wit da crust I...
Read moreFirst, I’m no stranger to pizzerias. So to find a gem like Meaux Jeaux’s Pizza in Metairie was a wonderful surprise. My standard order when trying a new pizza spot is “classic” pepperoni. The pie was as good and mostly better than any I’ve ever gotten in New Orleans. The first thing I noticed was the sauce-the fresh herbs virtually exploded in my mouth and the spices were a great mixture of sweet and tangy background flavors. The crust was excellent, but maybe the most important part of the pie, the cheeses were all great with no hint of that mediocre filler cheese found at so many shops. There was a generous amount of a very tasty pepperoni and all in all just a great pie. Even tho quite busy (during the lunch rush), the staff were all polite and efficient. It’s not often you’re given a smile with your change anywhere when busy, so kudos to those guys! The menu is a very ambitious mixture of classic and specialty pizzas. Additionally, there is an entire “build your own” pizza section that offers to many mouth watering ingredients to ever make that option an easy choice. I literally study the menu while waiting for my pizzas there now! So two thumbs up, 5 stars, ten out of ten, and dang-I’m in the mood for...
