Super 8 by Wyndham Metairie — Hotel in Metairie

Don't waste your time! This place is a disaster! I reserved three rooms from hotels.com since we needed to evacuate for Hurricane Milton. Hotels.com also said that the hotel was pet-friendly and there would be an extra fee per pet. No problem right? I get to the hotel to check in and there is a sign by the front desk that says no pets and the guy (who was VERY hard to understand) at the desk says no pets. I proceeded to argue with him about it and explain my situation. He looked at his computer, I guess to check hotels.com, and said the pets were fine. He then told me that I only had one room reserved. I argued that as well and showed him the confirmation email I had. He insisted that the reservation was only for one room. I asked him to go ahead and give me another room and asked that it be next to mine if possible since my two disabled sons had to get a room of their own. The guy said he was giving me the available room and it would be no problem. I paid for everything and got the keys and immediately noticed the keys had room numbers on opposite sides of the hotel! After driving for over 14 hours I was not in a place to argue anymore. I just wanted to crash for the night. So I got the boys settled into their room and went over to mine. The room on BOTH sides of mine was empty! (our entire stay they were empty) While we walked up to our rooms, there were several people in several areas just hanging around outside smoking weed. A girl was staying in a room below us and she had ALOT of males of different ages coming in and out of her room constantly. A drug deal went down as I was walking by to pick up food for my family. By the elevators, there were rusted old shells of the AC units they changed. Another time I went out for food, there was a guy just sleeping on the sidewalk next to the tree that was in the median. When I had to go and reserve my boys' room for one more day, it wasn't much better. The girl was so hard to understand and rude when I asked her to repeat herself a few times. First id like to say, generally, I love super 8! This one, however, was horrible. When we arrived, they charged us more than I was quoted (booked through them, was told my total included the pet fee but at the desk they insisted the quote did not, so the pet fee was effectively doubled). When we arrived we dropped our bags and left, because given previous experiences we saw no reason to doubt it would be fine. When we got back, we planned to shower but the towels were filthy, one had pubes on it and the other had a yellow stain, like dried pee (we only got two towels, despite booking a room for 3 people). The remote to the TV was also broken, so I went down to the front desk and the night guy to get fresh towels and a new remote. Remote was fine, but he initially refused to give me towels and was rather dismissive of it, though eventually gave me one. When we gave up on showers and laid down to watch a movie, we saw that the lamp between the beds had a condom hanging in it. We decided to tell the front desk in the morning, as there wasn't really anything to be done at that point. In the morning, the woman was at least shocked to hear the state of the room and wrote down our complaints. But she tried to say that it was because of when we checked in (shortly after 3, so it was not an early check in) and that we should have asked for a room change then, not seeming to understand the night guy had refused us towels, not a room change. Checked in 4/4/25 for my sons birthday at skate land and myself and my wife had a good checkin I told him I’ll go check the room to see if it worth staying Friday but when we parked we smelled weed and seen all kind of people in the parking lot we checked into room 215 and when we went to check we found a hell storm 1. Dirty Floor 2. Dirty AC vent 3.Hair on the floor like 3 curls now I’m a master barber who has OCD 4. Mold or something that looks like it. 5. The sheets ha fresh make up on the wow smh. 6. No cold Air & I have pictures to upload. I knew I was try to save but no put my family in the way of UNCLEAN PEOPLE WHO DONT TAKE THERE JOBS SERIOUS. I recommend you never stay here with your family not friendly at all. No once this was told to the night shift guy he said we don’t have a brook and we can help you if the room is dirty okay so I walked down with my kids and was told the same thing threw a night window so this must be a place to party and do drugs weed friendly location they didn’t state that a check in. So I ask the night shift guy for a refund because I didn’t approve off the room the hole time I’m getting yelled at by my wife about this and how I’m a cheapskate well our night ended with horrible customer service and a $152.15 shirt for my sons 2nd birthday trip now I’m in New Orleans at 11:55pm looking for a room that’s not close to skate land THE CUSTOMER SERVICE 0 HORRIBLE.
