I wouldn’t even give one star if it was an option. The lady working the window tonight was racist and rude. Three people walked up at the same time (myself being one of them) & being taught manners/respect, I let the older two people go ahead of me. They placed their orders and were able to receive their food (mind you one had 3 different plates and I only wanted to order one). When I finally got to the window she said to me “We closed. You can only buy ice cream.” I said “It states on the internet that you close at 8:30pm.” She said “Naw, boo. We close at 8.” I replied with “First off, I am not your boo. I am a paying customer, second, it is 7:50 not 8.” She responded with, “We are not taking any orders. Bye!” With major attitude. Ray Pierce would’ve NEVER allowed one of his employees to disrespect a customer like this. This place no longer deserves to have Mr. Ray’s name or PeGe’s on the sign of their restaurant and they are a disgrace to our community. Respect and good customer service go a LONG way and attitudes that this idiot had... don’t deserve to have a job at the front of the company. This type of attitude deserves to be hidden in the back cleaning out grease traps and mopping floors. Disgrace....

Just left from ordering food. The prices on the sign are very incorrect. we were charged 13.00 for a po boy that said it was under 10.00 before tax. charged 7.00 for a malt that said it was 4. it was 40.00 for 2 people to eat nasty food. It also took an hour to get our food from the window. I'm from monroe and always knew rays was slow, but the food was worth the wait. Not anymore. It was gross and only had 1 piece of meat on the poboy. We took this issue to the very rude crackhead working the window and she had the audacity to shoo us away and say "we changed our prices" When we told her the sign was incorrect she yelled "I didn't put that sign up I just f'n work here", turned and answered the phone. Our last experience at Magic Grill went about the same so I don't know why I expected better. When I posted on their Facebook what had happened, they called me a liar. I have dashcam video of everything g that happened and pics of the signs. Poor Ray's legacy deserves better. You shouldhavestopped a...

I stopped in Monroe while driving through LA, and I saw that this place was listed as one of the top po-boys in the state, so I just had to stop by! And I have to say, the food was pretty incredible. I got the fried shrimp po-boy with fried okra, and my brother got the same thing but with fries. They also came with their own cup of gravy. It was so all so good! The reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star rating is because of the general ambiance, as the place was generally untidy and didn't have a really clean vibe. But I must say, the service was great! I originally ordered my meal with fries on the side, and only afterwards I wanted to change it to okra. Even though it was a few minutes after ordering, and even though the okra was a dollar or two more expensive, the person behind the counter didn't skip a beat. He updated the order, shouted something tot he kitchen, and it was done. I also have to say that their other food looked incredible as well, such as the burgers. If you're in town, stop...

It's been a minute since we've been here but the place, the food and the service has only gotten better over the time away. Ms. Debbie took care of us and we were able to relax just before a long trip home. We ordered a beef tips over mashed potatoes plate with greens, field peas, and corn bread; a roast beef poboy, fries and sweet tea as well as a butter pecan cake slice. We also ordered a four piece catfish dinner to go. The atmosphere is a quieter one during the day with a more mature crowd visiting. In the evening, a younger, more lively crowd may be evident! Tip your servers, they love serving the crowd and making the same experience nostalgic!

The food seems to get worse every time we come. I ordered the open face and the kids got hamburgers. The hamburger patties were thick and dry. They looked and tasted like a cheap frozen hamburger patty. The price for our meal was sixty bucks. I don’t mind paying that but I expect a little better quality. The kids only had a few bites then I had too cook them some chicken nuggets because the hamburger patties where so dry.
