The only reason for a second star is because the food is actually good, but I had to have a friend share with me to know that. The service was terrible.
We stopped by around 3pm today, to get four meals to take home. I’d never been to a Slim Chickens before, but my friend always raved about it so we were excited to try it when we came in from out of town for the weekend. We ordered, and drove around to the window. After we got the receipt, I noticed that there was an error - instead of two 3 piece meals, we were rung up for a kids meal and one 3 piece meal, that’s fine it happens, headsets in drive throughs are notoriously bad. When we brought it up to the cashier at the window, she gave us a weird look and walked away. Apparently it was to get her manager, but we were left to sit there to wonder while it happened. When the manager came over, we explained what was wrong, twice, and he took my card back. He did not say anything to explain what was happening, just took the card, gave us a new receipt, and then the food came. We checked the bag to find a meal missing, the extra three piece. So we go BACK to the window, to be told that because it was wrong, the whole order was refunded and we needed to go BACK through to order the 3 piece separately, none of which was explained and could have been handled at the window by ringing me up there when we said we wanted that meal, but it wasn’t. I was frustrated at this point of having to explain the error three times and just decided to leave. When we got home for my friends to eat, the only tender meal was a kids meal, so incorrect on top of everything else.
While I appreciate being refunded for the error, the attitude of the staff and lack of communication made for an unpleasant experience. I would’ve have no qualms with paying for the meal when it was corrected, but there was no communication from staff to correct the issue at its core. Going back to the window was the only way we knew what was happening, and we would’ve gone home without knowing the extra meal wasn’t in there. I don’t appreciate being made to feel like a problem when part of the job is customer service. Having worked in the industry for 10 years, I know it can be a struggle, but it’s not a struggle to be kind and...
Read moreI've been here several times and have no problem with the food but the mgmt seems to always look like she doesn't want to be there and seems disrespectful to the employees especially the kids I own a restaurant and I jus feel like if you want the full potential out of an employee you should show them some respect but to take that job and treat those kids like can cause more harm than good I know being a Mgr can be stressful but if you want your employee to respect you you should in return respect them without name calling and disrespectful language i know several employees that's no longer there.Im not sure how this will change but any restaurant if you make a place where someone wants to work you'll get 100% out of them if you abuse your authority you'll only get 1/2 or less this is just my experience and I've been in business over 20 years. And I attribute that to making it a stress free work place and great employees.You.may wanna do drop in visits. This is your restaurant on Cypress St in West Monroe La.Your business may be doing good but with a good working environment imagine what it could be.No one wants to complain for fear of their job but this is ridiculous.Jus my thought I know this is a corporation and I have a small business but there is no reason to mistreat people i can honestly tell you my employees have never seen me have a bad day because what ever i have going on i leave it at the door before I step in my restaurant don't get me wrong I have bad days jus like the next person I jus choose not to bring inside...
Read moreThe food has been really good. I've tried most things on their menu and until recently enjoyed their service a little bit. But something changed and the quality has gone down seemingly overnight. I can only fathom a guess on why, but I'd I had to...
There's some manager (well, I assume she's a manager, she wears a different shirt) that seems to have had a permanent attitude and gripes at the employees (visibly to customers, mind you!) which is kinda insane to me. Even when she's in the lobby she just always seems angry. Can't believe anyone would treat their own people like that when people just want to do their jobs. Maybe she just has random bones to pick and wants to take it out on the employees? I talked to one of em and apparently it's a regular thing with her, orders taking much longer under her wing, orders having wrong stuff because of how distracting she is, etc.
And all that's a real shame because any other time, the place runs silky smooth. Never had cold chicken and never missed the entire entree when she wasn't around (how do you even manage that?)
I don't know what goes on in that kitchen, but there needs to be serious reform. Reading some employee reviews shines a scary light on a place that's run like they pay them 50/hr. And any place that can't respect the people who work for them don't deserve money from me and my friend network seems to agree with everything I've said when I talked to them about it.
Avoid if you respect the people...
