Boyfriend and I had a very nice experience at Kum's. It was clean, the owner's were very nice, and the food was cooked well and tasted good. We tend to be skeptical of the dining experience in Louisville since we've had less than pleasant experiences in the past, so we were very happy with Kum's.
We ordered the Galbi, kim bop, and an order of their fried chicken. Galbi was good, somewhat of a small portion for the price ($19) but sufficient for two people. The kim bop was good too - it fulfilled my craving. Their side dishes were pretty standard as well.
The chicken was freshly prepared for us: it was cooked thoroughly, and we felt it was good fried chicken overall. Their honey butter biscuits were really good! I wish I ordered a couple to go.
Thankful that we have at decent spot for Korean in Louisville when we want to eat out. The location is a little out of the way, but would come...
ย ย ย Read moreI was not sure what to expect but found the food was flavorful, hot and filling. The service was friendly and prompt. I ordered the Dol Soat Be Bim Bop. Funny name but it was a very tasty dish with rice, fresh vegetables, thinly sliced beef with a fried egg on top. It was in a large sizzling bowl made of half-inch iron it mustโve been kept in an oven because when it came out our meal was sizzling hot and stayed hot the entire time. Presentation was well done. She also brought out free unlimited marinated vegetables which included cucumbers, Kim Chee, potatoes, and other vegetables. There was also a sweet drink she gave us after the meal. Not sure what it was but it capped off the meal nicely. See my pictures.
Easy to miss this restaurant so look for it carefully. I look forward to a return visit in the...
ย ย ย Read moreThe grandma who works here is so sweet. My boyfriend and I are regulars there and she's the only one that works the floor taking orders, bringing out food, and clean tables. Despite that, food comes out very quickly and tastes amazing!
She makes the side dishes every Sunday on her day off, so you can really feel the hard work that's put into the side dishes. Which is why, she gets happy seeing that you finished the side dishes and will gladly replace them for free, rather than leaving it there unfinished.
The Korean BBQ is the cheapest in town. The pork belly is around $15 and so on. At the end of every meal, she gives every person a bottle of yaklut to help with indigestion after eating for free :) I can't help myself from coming back here because of how sweet she is and how great...
