I finally decided to try this restaurant for the 1st time today. This restaurant has been here for decades, I noticed alot of old photos hanging on the wall of this establishment. A few friends of mine shared on fb that cameo diner had a good breakfast sandwich called the fat kid. As soon as I walked into this restaurant literally every staff member inside greeted me asking how I was doing? (Most restaurants do not do that these days.) Litterally everyone that worked there greeted me, maybe 5 people. These people were extremely friendly, and courteous. The other thing I noticed is they actually had customers inside the restaurant eating, this is always a good sign. The fat kid sandwich was very good. It had bacon, ham, sausage, home fries, and eggs in it. It was almost too big. Perfect if you share this sandwich with a friend. The warm welcoming feeling I got when I walked inside this restaurant today made my entire day better. I wish every restaurant could do that. Can't wait to get breakfast at cameo...
Read moreExceptional, friendly service is the thing you notice first at the Cameo Diner. It's a family business, and the owner Scott still runs the grill. I was impressed at how many regulars they have - it seemed like he knew everyone by name. The food and coffee are tasty - everything, including the meats, is to order and is served piping hot from the griddle. I ordered an omelet, which was generously stuffed with my ingredients (the "Kitchen Sink" omelet), a side of Raisin toast with plenty of butter, and baked beans. It all came out as it was finished so nothing was cold or less than perfectly fresh. I take my coffee with cream, and they put the cream in it for you. Probably most cost effective that way, but a nice touch nonetheless. When the bill came I was pleased also. My omelet, toast, beans, and coffee came to well under $20. Even once I gave a decent tip it was only $20 total. If I'm in the area and hungry for breakfast...
Read moreI waited too long to visit Cameo Diner. I’ve lived in the area for years and finally made it to this mainstay diner in the Lowell area. Family owned and operated, Cameo has been part of the community for years doling out delicious, hot food while keeping that diner charm alive.
Food was fresh, hot and had great flavor. Coffee was perfect. We sat at the counter until a booth opened up and were quickly waited on.
We ordered the following: Eggs Benny(classic) Blueberry pancakes Omelette Jennie’s home fries
The eggs Benny was so good, simple but lots of flavor. The Jennie home fries were wicked good, with onions and jalapeños and came out piping hot.
My husband enjoyed his omelette and the blueberry pancakes were stellar, nice and fluffy.
It took too long to visit but now it will be a...
