It's easy to only see the total bad or total good side of this place, but I've found that there is an extremely specific way to eat here that actually makes the food bearable, as long as you don't really get sick of it. Firstly, breakfast is the best time to eat here. They usually have a waffle station which provides about as fresh of a cooked breakfast as you can get. I also suggest the nearby sausages and tater tots (the other potato variants are ok), and the eggs are alright if they're fresh. Don't get pancakes, they're usually crusty, but french toast is bearable. They also have normal cereal. Don't eat here for lunch. If you can, skip it. After about 10:30 breakfast stops and all they have are junk food (pizza, burgers) that have a great track record of upsetting stomachs. About 50% of the time it's ok to eat a hot dog, but you can't tell when. There's a legitimate sandwich bar and I've never eaten there, but I'll take a guess that that's decent (the food looks pretty good actually) so stick with that and the omelette station over in homestyle. Dinner is exclusively good in the homestyle area. Everywhere else is unchanged from lunch. Homestyle actually produces decent food if you're willing to get a smaller portion of meat than you may be accustomed to. Even so you can just go back up later. Also, the soup they serve is alright but has way too much salt in it. They also have a salad bar but a lot of the time the salad just has this weird aura of dirt when you eat it, so I suggest against that. The only good dessert (and I mean ONLY) is the ice cream, which is usually open and is like the best part of the entire place (along side the waffle station). Don't get other desserts, because they too make your stomach hurt way too often to be worth it. Actually I think they put Maltitol in their desserts, which is the same sugar-free sweetener they put in sugar-free gummy bears, which if you remember is the stuff that people write reviews on amazon explaining how their insides liquefied after eating a bag. I haven't personally had problems with wait staff, and my small interactions with some of them have actually been positive, but one time I was there one wait staff member was yelling at someone else (don't remember if they were staff too or not) and actually like hit them. I think the person doing the hitting was the girlfriend of the person they hit. Still, that's the sort of unprofessionalism a lot of people are talking about in other reviews. Overall, eat here at your own risk, but if you do it right it's...
Read moreI'll keep it short and just list some of the problems that this place. Cross contamination, poor service, not much variety, poor food safety standards (below states standard), unhealthy food, expired and old food reused, and last but not least the disrespect that is shown to people who complain is ridiculous. If some one complain then you should do something about it not get mad at them and start yelling at them the next time you see them. You shouldn't laugh in their face and then just walk away. UMass Lowell should end their contract with Aramark and get a contract with a new dining service. The only way that it would be okay to keep Aramark is if they fight to add variety to the menu and (not or) get all new workers that care about their jobs and ate not rude and disrespectful. The fact that this place is still...

WORST rice in the entire world. I’d rather eat 9 day old popcorn.
WORST pizza I’ve ever tasted. Tastes like tomato sauce on stale bread.
NASTY and dirty plates, cups and silverware, if it’s even stocked.
Upon entering the dining hall, there is a 25% chance that the ICECREAM machine is functioning and not broken. Usually takes 1-3 weeks for them to fix it and it breaks about 8 times per semester.
Any meats that are served are almost always DRY as physically pissible.
Burgers and hot dogs are the lowest quality available and should be avoided at all costs.
here’s the catch, meal plans are MANDATORY for 90% of the student housing on campus even if you have a...
