We (3) arrived at roughly 5pm. Promptly greeted by the two gentleman working the tables, Alonzo was our server. Seated in a booth near the bar area. Seats were firm and comfortable.

Free chips and salsa. Salsa was mild, not overly spicy or vinegar forward. Chips are thin corn torillas, similar to other restaurants.

Ordered a total of three cocktails. 1: Los Portalas ultimate on the rocks 1: Anejo Tres Agavas margarita 1: Sangria margarita- frozen

The Los Portalas having the Orange Liquor in it was good, however for my personal pallet I prefer a more classic margarita. My second was a classic margarita but with Tres Agave Anejo and was quite good. Not overly sour or tequila forward. My wife had the Sangria Margarita. She was quite happy with it as well.

Dinner, we had three Entrees: Taco Trio (Chorizo, Carne Asada, and AL Pastor) Chicken and beef taquitos Texas Fajitas.(chicken, steak, and shrimp combo)

The food came out hot. The crunchy tacos did not get soft on the bottom. The taquitos were very flavorful and slightly crunchy, and the Fajitas were seasoned and cooked well.

Of the three meats in the Fajitas, the steak and shrimp were our favorites. The chicken, though cooked well, was the least seasoned (we like a heavy seasoning).

Conversely, of the Taquitos, the chicken was our favorite when compared to the beef. Both are good, but the chicken stood out.

The three tacos were all good. No complaints. I ordered all three with simply cilantro and onions, though I could have put anything on them I would have liked.

Overall meal was $73.33. Quite affordable when you consider the cocktails. The cutlery was comfortable and well weighted (nothing worse than eating food with a paper thin fork). Not overly loud inside. The acoustics dampened conversation, and we could talk at a comfortable volume. The staff was very attentive and friendly....

Delicious authentic Mexican food! My favorite mexican resturant is El Rancho in Greenville. When I heard the owner was opening a new Mexican resturant in Lowell I was excited to try it. For our first visit we came on a wednesday evening. They were not busy. The decor is beautiful with hand painted wall murals. Our server was very nice and prompt to take our order. The freshly made chips and salsa were brought out immediately. They have the best salsa, fresh and mild. I was happy to see the menu had some new specialty dishes to try and all the classic dishes you would expect (enchilladas, burritos, fajitas, etc.). We ordered the Pollo Pina (chicken breast topped with pinapple and cheese sauce), Burrito Loco (big burrito with steak, chicken, and shrimp fajitas and grilled peppers and onion) and I ordered my favorite the Tilapia big mix plate (grilled tilapia with sprimp and scallops). The food came out in no time at all. Everything was delicious!

The second visit we came on a Saturday during their busy lunch rush. I called ahead since we had a big party and they had a table waiting for us. Even though it was busy, our server was friendly, quick and attentive. Our orders came out fast and hot. We ordered the enchiladas plate and the Texas style Fajitas double platter (a huge sizzling hot portion of beef, chicken, and shrimp with two plates of rice beans and salad enough to feed 3 - 4 people). We topped it off with a plate of warm Churros covered in whipped cream and chocolate syrup. So delicious!! I'm originally from Texas so I have high standards for Mexican food. Los Portales did not disappoint. It's now one of my new favorite resturants. I love the food, the decor, and the service is top notch. You won't be disappointed. I can't wait to go in the spring when the patio over looking the river will be nice to sit and...

Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. We’ve been three times in the last month. It’s going to be a staple. The chips and salsa are very good but they’re so good you can chip and salsa yourself into a full stomach! We’ve tried the fish tacos (very good), fajitas (family favorite and so flavorful), and the Portales burritos (amazing + HUGE). The drinks are very good and reasonably priced. The frozen margaritas are amazing and I don’t particularly like tequila.

The atmosphere is fun and it’s been busy every time we’ve went. The staff is very good about letting you know wait time and accommodated our various party sizes each time. We’ve had 3 different waiters each time and they are all so respectful and joyful. Excellent service even when it’s packed full. A great restaurant for any occasion! Thanks for...

Went with my sister to try a new restaurant in a small town near her. It's located right on the main street. It's small but I liked how it was decorated and arranged. Our waiter was Alonzo and he was very nice. The atmosphere was colorful, cozy, and comfortable. Lots of choices on the menu. We received a complimentary bowl of super fresh salsa and warm tortilla chips. Yumminess! I had a small burrito and my sister had tacos. Food arrived quick and was delicious. I felt we got a lot for our money. Although they have a bar we didn't have a drink so my order came to only $12 and I couldn't finish everything on my plate. I highly recommend and plan to go back next time I'm in the area.
