I recently attended a wonderful photography exhibition at LowellArts new location on Main Street in Lowell. This charming and historic building offers a classically beautiful setting for art exhibits, dramatic performances, and musical events. The curator was very knowledgeable and eager to share her excitement about the current event as well as all of the new exhibitions that are coming soon. We learned a bit of the history of LowellArts and now I'm an ever bigger fan! It is important the we all support our local art and artists. Read moreA stunning venue to host an event or small party! I recently hosted a small birthday party for a friend at Lowell Arts and everyone Loved it! It was nice to be able to wander the gallery for our own private viewing. The artwork made for a beautiful backdrop so no decorations needed. It also feels good knowing that money spent to rent the space as a venue is going toward supporting local art. There was light music in the backdrop which was also nice. It was a very calm and relaxing environment to spend the time in. I will definitely host events at this venue again...
Read moreWhen you force playwrights to pay your organization so that you can then produce their play royalty free (unless they win 1st or 2nd place....) you are part of the problem. Not only should every playwright submitting a play be responsible for part of the prize your organization is offering, YOU should be paying the playwrights selected. No one should be expected to work for free.
