Juice & Java — Restaurant in Lower Allen

I come here all the time when I’m visiting the area - I really like it. I almost always have a positive experience along with as fresh food and great attitudes. Today, that was not the case. The two girls were clearly overworked. Very busy - only 2 girls trying to take and prepare phone orders, walk-in orders, internet orders, etc. The owners shouldn’t put this kind of workload on 2 people. It’s just bad business through and through. My sandwich was made far before my smoothies were so I ended up with a cold “hot sandwich,” poorly made smoothie & sandwich, and also missing items. When I called in about it - all I got was a sassy “Well I’m sorry to hear that, but I don’t make the sandwiches.”

I’ve done this kind of work before when I was younger and I’m sure they aren’t paid well enough for the workload - so in a way I can’t blame them for not really caring.

Just a bad experience, and my first one at that. I’m sure it’s because they were stressed to the max & I don’t really fault them too much. At the end of the day this really falls on the ownership/management. Close down the store for the day if you can’t keep your store staffed & functioning properly. I get it that people don’t want to work and it’s hard to stay staffed, but don’t ruin a great reputation if you’re going to be run a sloppy business that day. Close the store, or come in yourself as a business owner to help out your staff. Over $30 for a cold & sloppy sandwich, soggy chips (even my 11 year old made a face and spit it out in the trash can), missing items, two runny smoothies, and a bad attitude that I never asked for. EDIT: I have returned recently and I'm happy to say the grilled cheese and chips have been restored to their former glory - awesome!

This place has amazing staff and is always clean, but the only reason I used to go is to get the grilled cheese sandwich with chips and tomato soup.

The grilled cheese they used to make was the best I've ever had; it used to overflow with melty cheese, spilling out into my to go box and giving me some melted cheese to dip in my lovely tomato soup! The last couple of sandwiches I've gotten have barely had any cheese on them and were mainly just bread, a shell of its former self.

The cup that the tomato soup was in was more than wide enough to dip my sandwich in, but was very flimsy. The tomato soup itself is great, pairing fantastically with the previous grilled cheese they used to make (it's alright with the toasted bread and small amount of cheese).

The chips are bland and tasteless. They used to have chips that had flavor and made me appreciate Juice N Java for not just being another chain store; no idea why they decided to change.

On a good note, they have a large menu which caters to most tastes and a wonderful atmosphere and staff. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing coffee shop atmosphere; just not to anyone who wants the best grilled cheese...

This is a place I have frequented many times. I will say the food is mostly wonderful. The coffee is pretty good and so are there specially drinks/lattes. I showed up 20 minutes before closing ordered a hot drink and it was served room temperature!! He had forgotten he had turned off the espresso machine 10 minutes before I arrived he said, so 30 minutes before they closed. Their solution was to microwave my latte until it was hot, and that took multiple trips to the microwave. I wasn’t offered any type of next time you come in will get your a hot latte, only that microwaving it will make it right. I know what a latte is, I know what espresso is, I have frequented hundreds of coffee shops in my life. I drove out of my way to get some food and a latte at usually one of my favorite places and am extremely shocked by my microwavable latte. Seriously my at home Keurig cups brew frothier than what was handed to me!!!! So the one star review for food is for the latte, two stars for Service because one person was at least friendly.
