I'd give Zero stars but that's not an option.
False Advertising, they currently have a sign taped up in front of the ordering area stating they temporarily have Lunch Menu items available all day, I set my sites on the Texas Pete's Chicken, noticed it was extremely over priced, but it's the only option around. Stood in line to order (which is exceedingly long seeing as this is the only restaurant still kept open), I tell the man at the register my order and he tells me "Breakfast only"! I direct his attention to the signs clearly taped up around the area and his response is a simple "Yeah, We're not doing that anymore. It's Breakfast only. Sorry" at least the cashier was nice in telling me that the easily taken down sign was no longer correct and I couldn't infact order the food the sign said I could.
Extremely Overpriced, the point of prices being higher here is because they know you can get the food here without leaving the toll road and paying extra tolls. At these prices it's actually CHEAPER to leave the turnpike, get your food literally anywhere else, and then get back into the toll road.
Long Lines, the service plaza folks thought it would be a great idea to, instead of hiring extra staff to clean both restaurants they'd just lay off all employees and shut down the other food choice, because Roy's was easier to clean and easier to stock ingredients. So now instead of having people 50/50 between restaurants they all pile up at the ONE option for food, meaning the skeleton crew they left working, max two people, has to handle 4x as many people and double the duty with the added cleaning. Really makes it great when you're standing in that super long line, deciding what you want to eat and then when you get to the front, you find out they're FALSE ADVERTISING that you can get a chicken sandwich when you can't.
The employees are trying their best, this is Managements fault for the menu changes and the owners fault for their decisions. This place would be better as some greasy Wendy's or something. That way at least you could...
Read moreDont come here after 1030 PM. The purple hair girl manager tries to cut food cost by saving old dry food and giving it to you. I saw the pan with chicken patties in it after I ordered my food and said I din not want those patties I wanted mine cooked fresh. The expensive prices at rest stops would make one think that the food would definitely be fresh but nope. I asked for it fresh and they just ignored me. I watched the cook make the sandwich and I told her I did not want that one and said specifically I want a new one. She went to her manager and the manager told her to make it anyway and give it to me. Once i was handed the sandwich i looked at the manager and said i already told you i didn't want this and I'm not paying for this old sandwich. Well she said they do not do refunds and she could make something else. I said no way I want my money back and she refused to give it back so what could I have done at that point. This is all recorded and I will be getting ahold of the...
Read moreBased on these reviews, I must have gotten lucky. Ordered a double bacon w cheese and it came out pretty good. Burger was warm and juicy and the cheese was melted. Wasn't the best burger but it certainly wasn't the worst
Then ordered some fries which were over filled and had a bunch in the bag as well so that's a plus. Those fries were a tad on the colder side but still very acceptable
Also tried the baked beans and honestly thought they were pretty good. However they put almost nothing in the cup. With a normal spoonfull, they were gone in about 4 spoons.
Where I have to dock points is both with price and service. No offense to the kids working there, but I could not understand a single word they said. And then for pricing? Wow. . . That's all I have to say. Way over priced for what you should be getting.
All in all, it wasn't bad and after reading other reviews, I must have...
