Please read my update at the end... I'm very happy to say Snap Pizza is a good place to enjoy a good pizza. Better than MOD!
Early 2017
A disappointment, with just a little effort it could be 5 stars. Let me break it down.
First the good: The pizza dough is very tasty, excellent, rolled to a thin sheet and then hand pressed. However the conveyor oven is not up to the task of baking the ingredients and charring the crust, so it loses just a little. The ingredients are excellent, the subtle tomato sauce is delicate and my favorite style, very good, very delicious, and there are other sauce options. They offer a variety of cheese, the 'House Made Mozzarella' is an exceptional choice. The veggies and meats look fresh, appealing, and of quality. I can vouch for the pepperoni and tomatoes. Note, they do not offer plain black olives, or fresh mushrooms. they do have marinated 'Mushroom Blend' and 'Kalamata Olives', so you'll get a vinegar taste, if you don't mind that. I would prefer a larger selection of fresh organic vegetables, however that's not an option here.
The Bad: Whether it's because staff was on auto pilot, or they heard my requests, and choose to ignore it, I'm not sure. Apparently "custom" does not mean the "customer" can choose how they want the pizza prepared. OK, they make the pizza thier way, and thier way only, I get that.
To summarize, SNAP Pizza is an attempt to be a MOD Pizza.
The previous operation at this site, 'Peace of Pizza' was, one, an authentic Main Line experience, and two, offered a better pizza.
Update: I was approached by the assistant manager as I was writing this, and he asked how the meal was. I shared my thoughts, and he apologized, and promised to make some improvements. That raised the stars from 3 to 4.
I'm looking forward to my next visit.
UPDATE: August 2017
Wow! The pizza and the attention to customer service is wonderful! Fresh tastey ingredients, well made by a staff who wants to make a good pizza, and keep customers happy. They made a few adjustments that I asked for when making my pizza, no pressure, no problem.
Five Stars for Snap...
Read moreI’ve been going to this location for years and always had a great experience, especially with the former manager (I say former because I haven’t seen him the past few times that I’ve gone), however, my few most recent visits have been far from enjoyable. The staff has not been very friendly and the past two times I’ve had incident where my food was made incorrectly. I went back to get it resolved and the staff argued that I was incorrect and then tried to doctor up the food to make it “look better” and eventually they just remade it. The part that annoyed me the most was that there was no recognition from staff for it being incorrect, and they offered no compensation or even keeping the original item. I did also send an email but I received back a blank email and a gift card that was not even the amount of the entree that was wrong. My husband also had a similar incident and wrote an email but received a blank email and no gift card. Even a thoughtful response back would have been more valuable than anything. It’s a shame this location has...
Read moreI visited friends in MD recently and went to a create your own pizza place and wished there was one nearby. When I heard about Snap Pizza I knew I had to try it. I will definitely be a regular customer! Not only was the food amaaaaaazing (my glorious concoction consisted of basil pesto, goat cheese, veal meatballs, sweet Italian sausage, caramelized red onions, Kennet Square mushrooms, and fresh ricotta), but the entire staff was awesome. There was an issue with the oven and my order took a little longer than expected and the manager apologized and have me a voucher for my next visit. Honestly, my order still came out quickly and the wait time seemed reasonable. They offered to remake my pizza because the crust on one side was a little dark but I like my pizza crispy so I was happy with it as is. I was impressed with the level of service and the quality of the obviously very fresh ingredients. Don't miss this place -...
