We ate here last week and regretted our decision to step foot in this place! I've never met Mexican food I didn't-like- yet literally everything about this place was awful. Fajitas were extremely bitter tasting (I now see others on here have complained of the same bitterness) to the point where they were inedible.

I am in the serving industry and have a lot of understanding for waitstaff- but our waiters treatment of us was just inexcusable. From the beginning he acted like we were bothering him (we were the only table seated in the entire restaurant at the time) He dropped the food and never once checked on us- as we sat there with empty drinks and full plates we couldn't eat. We tried to grab his attention only for him to disappear around us. The room did gradually get busier but we were entirely ignored when there was obviously a problem with our food.

Eventually he comes and throws the check on the table- noticeably absent was the "How was your meal? Or "can I get you anything else" (refill your empty drinks/offer desert etc) I told him politely that the food must have gone bad because its taste was awful- hence our full uneaten plates. He shrugged his shoulders and said "well this is authentic Mexican". I told him that we regularly eat authentic Mexican and this food was to put it simply- awful.

Again he shrugged his shoulders and said "other people like it so I don't know what to tell you." And walked away.

Not quite sure how they stay in business with food and customer service as...

Saturday, 9/28: Nobody else in the place when we got there. There were 11 of us. I got a combo: chimi, sope, flauta, SD rice n beans. Asked for cream of beans w/flour torts as app to share with others. The green and red sauce served with chips had no flavor and tasted old like the stale chips. Only the red was at least somewhat hot spicy, still no flavor. The flauta and rice on the main dish were ok but shell was too well fried. The sope was more mediocre in flavor. The chimi was too well fried and inedible, the meat tasted like it went through a bucket of cleaning solution, sauce no flavor. The beans were absolutely horrible too, they tasted something like the inside of the chimi. The cream of beans were mediocre; perhaps the cheese helped cover the blandness or whatevery was in the sidea of beans. Worst food I've eaten out ever in 40 years, second to the all you can eat feeding trough chains. And the service was not far from that, worst! The young women wasn't too interested in a good tip. She was found sitting at the front on het cell phone each time someone had to get up to ask for something. From the beginning, we had to keep asking for cups, glasses for wine, water, ice and she never checked back on us. Everyone got there food except one person, at this point she was told they didn't have chili rellenos. So, she had to wait. There was a max of 3 other tables at once and one other server. The one and only thing they had going for them was presentation. Extemely...

I would give no stars if I could. The girl who was working was so rude-- she had her back to us when we entered and didn't greet us, then seemed annoyed that we wanted a table. The a/c wasn't on and the overall vibe/decor was sad, sticky, and unwelcoming. She proceeded to toss us menus and eventually ask for our drink order. We were surprised but not bothered that the sodas were in cans, but we were really taken aback by the way she slammed them on the table. I asked for water, which came later, clearly from the tap. We sat there for a while, but there wasn't any staff to be seen and no one was in a hurry to help us. Also, it must have been Bring Your Child to Work Day, because there was a young child sitting alone at a table by the door. Two other parties were there eating, but there wasn't any music or anything, just uncomfortable silence as we waited. Finally, we decided to just leave. My husband and I hung back to pay for the drinks, and when the girl rang us out she didn't ask why we were leaving or try to recover the experience. I'm not sure if she was alone, which would be difficult I'm sure, but a little kindness and communication goes a long way. We would have stayed had she been friendly or spoke to us at all. Diners beware, we heard the food was really good but I'm not sure how long you have to wait or what kind of attitude you have to...

Ordered the seafood jambalaya and my wife ordered the chicken burrito bowl. The jambalaya was amazing, but the bowl was filled with fatty chicken and rice that was soggy mix of cheese and beans. We told the waitress about it and she did apologize, however when we received the check the bowl didn’t come off our bill and we had to pay for it. After waiting 10-15 minutes of them arguing in the kitchen, which I understood every word they were saying. I was not pleased to hear what they had to say. Then a chef or manager (a woman who never introduced themselves) challenged my wife and gave her the most disgusting/disrespectful look and attitude. My wife up and left. They did finally take the bowl off, but it was more like pulling teeth because they felt their food was great. Definitely don’t recommend the chicken, or if you have an issue with your food to entertain going to an establishment like this.

Serving size for delivered food is small compared to price. Platter that cost $16 didn't even fill a regular bowl halfway. It's a tourist trap. Also packaging is inappropriate. Liquid spilled all over the inside of the bag and ripped the bag which caused liquid to trail on the floor until I could get it onto the stove. Also if you want to eat a burrito like a normal person make sure to ask for all ingredients to be placed inside of the wrap. If not the toppings like sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes will be on top of your already wrapped burrito. The food is nothing special.

Highly recommended authentic Mexican food. I see a lot of “taco” spots opening up on the Cape and I doubt they could compete with this one, especially in terms of authentic flavors. You know a Mexican spot is good if they make amazing rice/beans and salsa, and Cinco De Mayo does those things very well. The fajitas and chilaquiles we got hit the spot and our server, Arcenia, was great.
