Albarran's Mexican Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Lubbock

My husband and I and little one are from California and let me tell you we have been in Texas for a while now and we have been trying to find a good Mexican restaurant that is the same as California and wow our first time coming here was beyond amazing even better than California first of all we were greeted great by the host and our server she was amazing always checking on us and making sure we had everything. I forgot her name but she has blond hair. She was fast and very kind. The food was amazing in California they never serve us that huge bowel of chips with the salsa we were at WOW they were so good as well. We ordered the carne asada fries 10/10 and the two chili rellenos with rice and beans 10/10 and amazing it brought us memories of our grandma/moms cooking. The portion is amazing especially for sharing with your husband/wife/kids my little one got the kids menus cheeseburger with fries 10/10 and she loved it everything is legit homemade the fries were crispy and soft and just amazing flavor that I cannot describe. The soft drinks were amazing I am pregnant and I’ve tried all sprites from different places and nothing compares to Albarran’s Mexican Bar And Grill the sprit tasted so refreshing so did the ice tea and the coke and Dr Pepper. The water was also amazing. And you cannot beat the price it was all $47 for us three for what we ordered we thought it would of been more also I loved the decorations and the music. The restrooms were so clean and organized everything was so perfect and the managers are always friendly going up to you making sure we had refills and had everything we needed. we will be coming again. I wish I would of taken a picture of the food but we were so hungry we just ate as soon as it came out. Trust just go on in and eat!!

Edited: second time here and we got the molcajete that served me my hubby and my little one and for my little one some enchiladas with beans and rice and let’s talk about the huge bowel of chips! Pregnancy craving...

The staff and waiters get worse with each visit. I used to be a fan. ‘ACE’ was awesome every time he waited on us but now they are hiring young kids who you have to chase down and ask them for refills. I understand you get busy on a Thursday night, but I have to chase and ask another waiter to bring us chips after sitting there 15 minutes. They used to give you chips in the first 5 minutes or less. On top of that, they bought us chips, but not the salsa. Had to chase them down again. Yeah I know what you are thinking: 1st world problems, right? …but when you give me the check, boy do you look to see if there is a tip. I tipped you $10 on a $30 bill, but you didn’t deserve it. Also it was freaking annoying to sit there and try to eat with a wobbly table. Every time my father in law tried to pick up his food with a fork it would bounce the table. You had no other tables to replace ours with. Made the dinner unenjoyable. I used to go to your restaurant twice a month. Now we go twice a year, but after tonight, we think we’ve had enough...

The waitstaff is rude. The whole bunch. We went for Friday drinks and appetizers and waitress would barely give us straws. Then we decided to go to the patio after our friends left and we sat down to listen to the mariachis and we’re ignored by every waiter that came by us. My husband finally stopped and she took our order that was probably never filled because right after that a hostess came and asked us if we had been seated by a server, we said no and told her that people were walking in from the gate and sitting down without checking in. Before we knew it she had someone tell us we had to leave patio because other people were in line for it. He was just rude. Pretty much he held the door open for us till we left and didn’t offer an apology or show us rules to the patio. For us we will not be supporting that restaurant or anything else this owner owns. Plus when someone asks us for a great place and service we will not recommend that place. We might only be two people but we will speak our minds....
