Immedially upon walking in, the service was off-putting. The tables and decor create a strange, half-baked-idea atmosphere. When we the menu is vague and undescriptive leaving a lot of confusion on what you end up getting. When we ordered my fiance got the BBQ burger with no onions. The waiter started shaking his head and didn't ask what side he wanted, I suppose it's assumed you get the fries, but we still are not sure. After that my food was brought first and we waited a few minutes for his to arrive. When I went to eat my eggs, they were entirely uncooked. Not only that. But they clearly are not farm eggs. I eat local farm eggs at home on a regular basis and there is a huge difference in how they cook. The bacon was thick cut, but was a chewy tangled mess. My fiance's burger came with fries topped with chip seasoning and the BBQ sauce was more akin to hot sauce than anything else. None of that was described in the menu or otherwise. We saw our serve once more when he brought a refill without asking and without saying a word when he brought it. We then sat there for about 20 minutes until my fiance had to leave. After he left I was left sitting for about 10 minutes by myself before our server finally stopped at our table again. As he was taking away the plates he asked how everything was to which I responded that my eggs were uncooked. He offered to have them rebooked, when I said no he left with the plates and said he would bring the check. After bringing the check he said he would be my cashier when I was ready and left. I was ready almost immediately, but left to sit there for 5 minutes while he helped other who had gotten their check after me. After I got my check back I was not given any acknowledgment as I was leaving. The whole time felt as though I was at a house in which I clearly was...
Read more10-11-20 went to farm house for brunch, we were told it would be about a 15 minute wait.. no problem with that, we were seated fairly quickly, and ordered our brunch veggie Benedict for me and a veggie omelet for my husband... waited patiently for our food to arrive.. two other table with three and four in their party seated after us and received their food before us. All the while or waitress is telling us how short staffed the kitchen is but don’t worry she’s checking on it. 45 minutes later I tell her the two tables after us have their food, and are almost finished eating. Her reply oh gosh really??? Yes... really! Waitress comes back well you see what happened was we had a big family brunch and they messed up that order so they were fixing that and then somehow the other orders came out before but don’t worry I talked to my manager and she’s going to put your order at the front of the line now. Two things about this situation. 1. Out waitress forgot to put our order in and tried to lie to cover it up. If that’s the case be honest own the mistake and give us the option to wait longer or leave. Option 2. They really are short staffed and all the things happened like she said at which point the MANAGER should have been the person to come to the table and own the mistake and ask if we’d like our food made or to leave. Instead what happened is we ask so our food at this point now an hour and twenty minutes since we were seated hasn’t been started? Waitress no not yet... ok we are going to leave this is ridiculous... waitress oh umm ok well bye. The level of unprofessionalism floors me. As someone who has worked in the food service industry, and now owns a business I’m embarrassed for the owner. Especially in a time where we fight for our rights to be open and serve our customers this is...
Read moreI visited this locally owned and operated breakfast and lunch restaurant on a Friday morning just after 8am. No wait. Food only took a few minutes, though they weren't very busy anyway. People really started coming in after 9am.
True to its name, there is a country feel to the decor. They serve cold drinks in glass jars (a nice touch) and creamer in tiny, chilled, metal pitchers. Country music was playing, but not too loud. Servers were warm and accommodating. I could hear employees laughing back in the kitchen, which added levity to the atmosphere. Felt homey and casual without sacrificing cleanliness and style.
The menu is not long (pictures provided), but has some great breakfast and lunch staples. I ordered a waffle, sausage patties, and scrambled eggs. I asked if their waffles were crunchy or soft, and the waitress said they could make it the way I wanted. Everything was hot and tasted great. Coffee comes in a carafe, so it stayed hot and I could serve myself more whenever I wanted. The meal was appropriately priced; not cheap or expensive.
Although there is wi-fi here, I had to ask for the password. I'm not sure if they had planned on customers using it, but they were very friendly and accommodating about it.
Overall really enjoyed this restaurant. It's nice to have a affordable, locally-owned breakfast cafes on the West side of Lubbock. Looking forward to bringing my family back for a...
