WOOOW!!! Thank you for existing!! I found my go to Thai restaurant. I thought Bangkok was my go to but just wow!! I ordered the pad see ew(#23) spicy with beef and shrimp and it's delicious. Took one bite and definitely had to put my fork down to write a review. I love how they stir fry the chili in with the noodles instead of just sprinkling it on like the other Thai places in Lubbock calling it "spicy". At first I was a little skeptical about this place, thinking it was going to be like the other Thai restaurants but I was wrong. The joint may look a little dirty inside but don't let that stop you from trying their food. You won't be disappointed!! A suggestion though for the cook, you should add more sauce in the noodles because I feel like if I want to eat this later, microwaving it would make it dry. So more sauce next time...

The menu has a little something for everyone. Some of the dishes are standard fare for Lubbock recipes, like the Phad, but its all done to order, so expect a slight variation here and there. Overall, its delicious! I'm working my way through the numbered menu and haven't been disappointed yet. This can be a challenge when there are a couple of dishes I think about even when I'm not hungry....I just CRAVE them!
We typically have a long wait when dining-in, so if you're in a hurry for your curry, its best to call ahead. If you have the time, have a seat...the service...
Read moreThis is the most authentic Thai food you can get in the states. The owners are an adorable couple that feel like family to their regulars. I cannot speak highly enough about the food, the family that owns it, and the experience.
I moved from Lubbock almost 3 years ago. To this day I think about Choochai, the food, and the two wonderful owners and operators. I miss them like an aunt and uncle! Please, go!!
But. I must warn you. It'll ruin every other Thai food restaurant in America for the rest of your life 😂. I can't even eat Thai food in Houston without being disappointed because of the brilliant and impossible standard of Choochai!
I miss and love y'all if you read this!!
PS: You MUST get the Pad Thai! I prefer medium spice. Few can handle the Choochai "hot." But brave it...
