This place is a must try!! Absolutely delicious. We tried a little of everything on our visit seeing as this location has a little bit more expanded menu. (Flautas & gorditas aren't available @ clovis location)
The flautas are a must-try! Super crunchy. Filled with delicious chicken. Gorditas I tried were asada and beans/cheese. Yes, yes, yes!! We also got the asada fries. They traditionally come with crema and pico de Gallo (which I omitted). We added guacamole. My fiance loved them. The flavors were there, but for me personally it was a bit much. I think I've decided they just aren't for me. š¶ my fiance tried a torta de asada (his 1st time) and he loved it.
The portions are great for the price. For everything we ordered, we paid roughly $45. We also had an horchata and 2 Coca Cola de botella.
There are very few tables for dining in. A couple of booths outside similar to their Clovis location.
The service was ok. No one was rude, but they were busy and it showed. We stood there for a good couple minutes before even being acknowledged. I feel they need to develop a better system for whomever is taking out the food. It doesn't seem there's a whole lot of communication between whoever takes orders and brings them out. Lots of times we were offered food we hadn't ordered and food kept going back and forth between the dining room and kitchen bc of the confusion.
ā ļøFOR THE COVID CONSCIOUSā ļø These tables are NOT distanced. The place is TINY so you'll be crowded by other diners as well as people waiting in line to order, so if you're claustrophobic or just very covid conscious, I'd eat outdoors or order and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor all the Lubbock OGs who were heartbroken when Raspados closed -- good news: this is Raspados! I confirmed with the family running it, and yes, itās the same people behind the counter, serving up the same deliciously comforting tacos, tortas, elotes, and horchata you remember.
Sure, itās tucked away in a little-rough-around-the-edges part of town, much like the original spot -- but honestly, what did you expect? You come here not because it's fancy, but because it's the best Mexican food in Lubbock. Go, eat, and leave with your belly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came on a little adventure this weekend to get out of town. We didn't want to go too far from home. So we decided Lubbock sounds good. We are always looking for the best Birra, Al Pastor, Asada fries, and Elotes. COLIMAS DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! The Birra is, in fact, probably the best in town as the sign out front says! The sauce is so good you could drink it alone and be in heaven. The pineapple on the Al Pastor made this dish authentic, not to mention the rice and beans! Elotes were out of this world, I got...
