Went to this IHop on marsha sharp freeway at noon today for only the second time but it will be the last. Last thursday my son and I went at noon and the minute we were seated the waitstaff started pulling chairs out to sweep underneath a man started cleaning tables that were already clean. He was obviously just doing busy work. We asked to be moved to a section they weren’t going to be throwing dust up and they said they’d wait. Today we go back once again at noon and get seated promptly and have our drink order taken. At that time there were about 8 tables in use and then another couple comes in after us and gets seated in front of us. Our order is taken and once again the cleaning starts. The sweeping and mopping is throwing up dust and the smell of bleach water is overpowering. The couple in front of us asked to be moved because of the bleach smell and i heard the woman saying her husband had allergys. We had already placed an order so we were undecided on whether to leave or wait for the food. A couple of men across from us get up to leave and they also talk to their waitress about the wet floors. Our food comes out and we start eating. By this time the distraction of the mopping the sweeping the re-cleaning of already cleaned tables is too much and we ask for out receipt. It takes us asking 4 people for our ticket before its brought out. The whole restaurant floor is wet as we’re getting up and i have to say if thats going on all the time i’m suprised they haven’t had somebody slip down. I’m older and it makes ne nervous walking around on slippery floors. As we were leaving i started telling the older woman at the front that while the food was adequate they should really think again about doing constant cleaning and mopping while people were trying to eat a quiet relaxing meal. She had no trouble telling me that they were a “breakfast” restaurant and had to clean. I’ve only gone there twice and since it was lunchtime both times i’m assuming by her comment they don’t want lunch eaters there even though the advertisements are 24 hour service. She won’t have to worry- we won’t be going back. I encourage anybody who’s eating lunch go somewhere else. They only want...
Read moreWe decided to stop by Saturday afternoon for a late brunch. My daughter had practice until 1 and was in the mood for breakfast. Being a new store it was clean. Looked nice inside and out. But that was about it. Just not the best experience. We placed our orders. I ordered an appetizer because like I said, daughter had practice and we were hungry so wanted a little snack before our meal. I asked the waitress if the appetizer could be brought out before the meal and she said it would be. But to our surprise they brought all the food together. So I told them to take the appetizer. We didn’t need it if our food was already here. There’s no point for an appetizer at that point. Well they brought it back in a box. I told them I didn’t want it and they took it back with attitude. My wife asked for extra gravy for her biscuits and gravy. It came with less that half of a small bowl of gravy. They said sure. But I had to call a different waitress over to the table after my wife was almost done with her meal because no one came back with the extra gravy. Portion size, well I mean you get what you pay for. But when kitchen staff comes out and sits down across from you with a plate loaded up and you look down at your plate. You realize what you’re paying and how little you get but see their plate stacked, it’s a little annoying. I’m not against staff taking a break to eat but if you’re going to load up, I’d do it out of view of customers. Well then my wife moved on to her pancakes. We noticed a little dark spot. We thought maybe it was a little piece of burnt dough. But when she pulled it off, it had wings. It looked like a gnat or mosquito. So that was the end of our meal. The manager came out, apologized and took my wife’s meal off our ticket. But it ours. Even though we all had pancakes. If that bug was in hers then who else had the same batter it was in???? How many of us that day ate from that batter and did hey even toss it out? Icouldn’t believe that was in there then looked at my daughter because we both had pancakes as well. Wasn’t a good day. Not a...
Read moreWe visited this location late at night and arrived at 11:40 PM. The waitress GIGI took 8 minutes to come to our table to greet and get our drink order. She took over 10 minutes to return with drinks and take our order. She left our table at 11:55PM. (She only had one other table she was servicing when we arrived). There were 3 other tables that were seated afterwards and they received the full order. By this time it is 12:34 am. I went up to the register to ask for manager and he came over and apologized and said he will check on it. He came to our table and said our order is being prepared. The waitress never checked on us since taking our order 39 minutes early. She then yelled out to us when the manager was at our table saying the she was told that someone else took out our food order. I said to her if they did you didn’t even come by to check on us to see if our food was good or not. I then asked her to step away from us! Another waitress took over and was very attentive until we left. The manager (Sarge) said he will help us with our ticket and I said that’s not what I was asking for but thanked him. He tricked me and only gave us the kids eat free meal they were already offering. I called and talked to general manager 3 days later and she appreciated my feedback so that she could improve there service and politely offered us a complimentary meal. I thanked her and look forward to the service improving in this brand new IHOP location that just opened a...
