Picantes — Restaurant in Lubbock

I take my street tacos quite seriously. I ordered x9 tacos, or 3 orders of tacos for $7.99/3 (already expensive) to go. I ordered x6 al pastor and x3 carne asada TO GO. For starters, the green salsa is pretty darn good. The red salsa tastes like it's colored with bbq sauce. I asked for corn tortillas for all tacos. I received flour for all tacos instead. I asked for extra limes, she told me they only have lemons. When I got home and opened the box, there was a mixture of limes and lemons in the box. Why couldn't I get extra limes? The carne asada was just ground beef. It wasn't carne asada, it was just salted ground beef. The Al pastor wasn't marinated, it was just colored red. If it was marinated, then they were in a rush. I asked for fully loaded tacos, which means it comes with onions and cilantro, (there al pastor does not come with pineapple) and there were about 2 flakes of cilantro per taco. I asked for x5 grilled jalapenos on the side, they got that right and didn't charge me, but they charged me 40¢ per extra salsa, and they only give you 4 salsas when you order 9 tacos! Admittedly, there salsas come in the 2oz cups, not those baby tiny tiny cups. Staff seemed nice, but it's obvious the lady who took my order thought she knew better than me of what I wanted when I asked for corn tortillas and she wasn't aware that her restaurant serves BOTH LEMONS AND LIMES. Above this, my tacos were squeezed inside of tin foil like a sack of sand to save space, they managed to fit all 9 of my tacos inside one regular to go box. Oh my my. So my daughter and I decided to come in for breakfast sitting on a booth near a coca cola fridge. Our food comes out and out the corner of my eye I see something scamper from the middle of the restaurant. I immediately look at my daughter and ask if she saw it and what it was. She said she saw something but didn't make out what it was. The waitress whom I think was the owners wife comes over and asks if everything is ok. Kind you she just put our food down 60seconds before. Unsure of what we saw we said everything was fine. We then see the owner come out with a brown paper bag kneels in front of the coca cola fridge as if getting something from under there. We couldn't help but be curious my daughter and I as that is the direction the mysterious black object went towards. The owner I feel sees us see him and gets up. 2 minute's later he comes back with a long black sticky rat traps. He along with the dish washer man we're taunting what had to be a rat under there with it thinking it would just jump on it. By this time they have both my daughter and I attention they see that and get up. This whole time.i have my feet on the bench and my daughter is sitting on hers. Both men get up and I guess this scared the rodent. Well this is when my daughter fully sees this rat to confirm our worst fears. That's enough for me I was trying to convince myself when I knew the whole time it was a rat. It scampers by the wall under where we are seated and I just can't. I'm disgusted and my appetite was ruined. Needless to say we grab our things and go to pay without eating...

Absolutely appalled of the way a owner manager dish washer had the nerves to tell my family That we were trying to get something for free. We had a party of eight my daughter odered first her plate comes out last after asking 3x. We switch waiters bceasue Reyna was holding her tables down way better then the older gal we had at at first. My breakfast quesadilla had a piece of plastic in it the owner manager dishwasher comes out sees it says sorry he'll remove it from the ticket and replace my plate. My son goes to pay and all hell breaks loose. The owner wants to charge us for my plate then threatens us with the cops because we refuse to pay for something he clearly said we didn't have to. We all had money and were willing to pay for the rest of the ticket just not the plate that had plastic. My waitress was so embarrassed and I feel sorry for such a hard worker to be represented by such a I'll mannered Pearson. Then on the way out the door he has the audacity to say we were just trying to get our meals for free. I am calling the health department in hopes to help the rest of the hard working paying customers in the future. Untill we get an apology my family will NEVER dine at this place so...
