Taco Villa — Restaurant in Lubbock

My last visit to the 98th and slide location is why im giving taco villa 5 stars. I ordered quite a bit of food through the drive thru. I made it home without 3 of the items that I had ordered. Annoyed I drove back to get our food bc it was my kids stuff that was missing and you know how that is... The employee was so sweet and helpful. She got me our food and much to my surprise she also gave me a refund on the things that were missing. I couldn't believe it, no place has EVER done that for me before. She said my time was important and gas isnt cheap so they would like to refund my money. Talk about uh-maz-ing customer service! Wow! Still blown away especially bc the location on 50th near ave q that i used to frequent argued with me the last time they forgot an item. Even with my receipt and despite the fact that i was literally just there, hadn't even left the parking lot before I realized the mistake.. that was my last visit to taco villa until I moved close to the 98th street store. Staff and management at this particular store rock! And the food, as always was tasty, and fresh. Ive grown up on Taco Villa and its a regional favorite for all. Good food at a fair price and the happy hour drinks are always a great deal. And this store has a very nice patio area. So yay taco villa! You have a great staff and won this customer...

Ok, I feel bad for not taking a photo of this place but I will soon. This is by far the the fanciest Taco Villa ever. It's obvious they are catering to the "rich" side of town with this location. The setup is very good and the decor is just "TRYING" to reach outside of the current Taco Villa mindset. It's fully in force that they are going for a full re-branding of Taco Villa with this location. The semi-recent addition of alcoholic drinks and the updated decor is great. Let me help clue the owners of Taco Villa (who are the same owners of Rosa's) into something. If you want to be Fuzzys then you need to take your alcohol game WAY more serious. Also your taco's suck like 75% of the time. Consistency in tacos is key and your tacos are so erratic it's like watching "House of Cards" you never know what you might get. That's why I now just get the chili cheese curly fries instead. Your fresco bowls are "ok" but not great. WAYYYYY to much rice. Just make the bowl smaller... it's ok. Taco Villa is a staple but if they want to continue their empire then revamped looks and a few beers with frozen margaritas is not...

This has to be the worst one. The manager is clueless and not sure how she was left in charge during lunch rush. I ordered #3 no lettuce. Sat and waited and waited. Saw 7 others who ordered after me get their food. I go up to see what the issue is and found another lady in same situation. The manager is on the line and clearly lost in orders. DT is looking backed up as well. Finally get my food to find out that taco has lettuce. Took back up there. The FOH lady said I can keep it while they make a new one. I said I don't want it. She said she can't take it back. I said ok and left it on counter. She said the trash can is over there for me to throw it away. I said are you serious. You are standing right next to the trash. She said she can't take it. The lady next to me started laughing with me. After waiting another 10 minutes to get my taco. This is ridiculous. By this time im over it. Do better and put the right people in the right spots. ACES...
