Woodys burger barn — Restaurant in Lubbock

Ordered a burger and tots, no drink $15.60. Kinda high for building it yourself and no drink. The patty tasted like quality beef but it wasn't seasoned at all, just a bland beef patty. A little S&P in the mix before cooking would greatly increase the flavor profile. It is a build a burger yourself layout, like Fudruckers. I'm not a fan of that setup. By the time you build it and sit down to eat, the patty & cheese will be cold. It's definitely not an old fashioned, wrapped to keep the heat, melt the cheese more and gel the burger together style. I wanted to give it a higher rating, due to their other eatery, but this is a miss for me. I wanted to experience a nostalgic "new" burger spot and did not get that here. At this review, they are new, so I will update this several months from now. This holds no bearing on the service, just the food...

Not knowing what to expect from this place, I am happy to say it was money well-spent.

First, up was getting the Black Cats appetizer. They are round cheese balls of perfection with bits of jalapeños. Learned later they have the same fried cheese as the other place in Lubbock. known for their fried cheese.

My Swiss Mushroom burger was FANTABULOUS. Tasty and served as I had ordered it with no veggies. Burgers should leave your hands greasy.. The tater tots were cooked to perfection.

When you arrive this place may look closed. Open the door and enter. Have grace and patience with the waitstaff, Enjoy the music as you wait for the bestest burger.

Greasy burger lovers - this is your your new hidden gem in Lubbock.

Grateful to be the first review huge juicy burgers (can’t beat $6.49 for a fresh grilled burger) amazing cheese selection- I opted for hot gooey cheese sauce and topping selection ( grilled onions, mushrooms, jalapeños, green chili, red chili) for those who are famished an option for a whopping 4 PATTIE’S.
