The Spud — Restaurant in Lufkin

My daughter and I went to Lufkin and while there we were going to have lunch. She looked at several places but we really wanted a good potato and salad and this place had good reviews. The lady who took our order was very friendly and helpful in descriptions of the food super sweet lady!

You can only sit outside or go through the drive thru. Since it was such a beautiful day we sat with my grandson outside

The food came about 6 minutes later and I must say we both were so impressed!! The potato was HUGE!!! We got one with butter, cheese, bacon and sour cream. The potato was very moist and very well topped! We also got a Cobb salad (we shared the meal) and it was so fresh as were all the ingredients. Got my grandson a potato,small with light butter and cheese, he absolutely loved it and ate most of it and some chicken.

For the level of customization offered here, I was astonished at how quickly the line moved and my own potato was ready. It was hot, fresh, and pretty much exactly what I expected and asked for. Food can get a little pricey but, as I've said regarding price before-you know what you're eating when you chose to eat there lol. I am a regular customer at spuds and i recieved bad service from the momment my order was recieved to the time we finally got our food. We didnt recieve a greeting at the window, just a blank stare from a tatooed guy with an order pad. My husbands baked potatoe was done differently from the other times we recieved it.
