Shipley Donuts — Restaurant in Lufkin

There is a difference between “fresh” and “made same day“. Their donuts are made same day but I’ve never gotten hot & fresh. I stopped here today around 9:00am and the dozen I purchased were cold and not very good. I’m used to always having hot donuts at the Shipley’s where I live and am often disappointed when I’m in town and stop here regardless of time. You can make donuts everyday but fixing a batch at 5:00am and selling them at 10:00am does not make them fresh (example)! At nearly $10/dozen we should at the least get donuts that are warm & don’t taste refrigerated on a Sunday morning...

The donuts I purchased were older than a few minutes and I took a picture but couldn’t figure out how to upload. My family whom I was visiting said not to go there because “they are never fresh”. TERRIBLE donuts. For someone who looks so forward to Shipley's donuts, because living in Louisiana we have no Shipley's Donuts this location had the absolute WORST donuts. We get Shipley's 2 to 3 times a year when traveling to Texas. Typically we stop in Columbia but since Katy Tx now has a Shipleys close to our family in Katy this is the one we visit. I have been to this Shipley franchise twice within 2 years. I love Shipley’s chocolate filled donuts, but they barely put any filling inside the donuts at this store compared to others. I thought the first time it might have been by accident or a new employee, but it happened again. Do be so cheap to not fill it up to normal serving size to save a buck.
