Long but true story… I live in the Houston area. In April I was window shopping at several different furniture stores. I came across a dining set that I really like. However it was a 6-seat table but I only wanted a 4-seat table.
I like the dining set so much I was willing to purchase the 6-seat set. The price was around $2,100. I called the furniture store back a few days later & was told the set was out-of-stock and that it would be in on 05/31/22.
So I Google the name brand of the dining set. It popped up @Ivan Smith in Lufkin, Tx. I called & sent an online message the set was out but another shipment was due in. Ivan Smith had the 4-seat same dining set for about $800 cheaper! Sooooo….I called the local furniture store back to let them know I had found the set at another location and to remove my name from the list. All of a sudden it was 1 set left in the warehouse….🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ I decline & went with Ivan Smith!
Edward, the salesperson responded to ALL my text throughout the duration of almost 2 months. He was very polite & professional. My dining set was sent to Shreveport, La, but the location in Lufkin, Tx made sure it got to there location for me to pick up. Over all I ended up saving over $1k, due to the price being lowered on the dining set. My experience was TOPNOTCH!!! Read moreBought a bed suit for my 4 year old daughter. When it was delivered the bed rails were splintering ( Ivan Smith says it's because it's "real wood"). Ok, that's fine I'll buy that lie. Next step assembley, when we finely got the bed set up we couldn't tighten the rails to the head board. The head board was setting at a 25° to 30° angle while the other side was flush. Called them up and they asked if we knew what we were doing, hinting that my husband didn't know how to operate a screw driver. So I informed the person on the other end that my husband spent three years in remodeling before opening his own mechanic shop for the last 10 years. I followed that up with a very sarcastic "no, I don't think he does", the other came back with " I didn't think so, most people dont", We can send a new one and a couple guys out tomorrow to set it up. So i proceeded to ask about a return. I was then informed that it's a 20% restocking fee, if they would take it back since it's up to the manager. Wow, great customer service you have.
