I had the House Special Fried Rice. My Wife had the House Special Lo Mein. My daughter had Fried Catfish. The Fried Rice. DO NOT waste your time. They pre-make basic fried rice and just add whatever on top. This leaves a mushy consistency in the rice, and no flavors are blended. The beef in it tasted like unflavored stew meat and as such, also came with chewy cuts. For GREAT fried rice, I would recommend either JoJo's China Bistro in Beaumont, or Noah's Seafood in Vidor. Now for the Lo Mein. This was actually decent, which is why I'm leaving this review 3 stars instead of 1 or 2. Back to the Lo Mein. The flavor was good and the meat in it seemed ok. This dish is a close enough second to the House Special Lo Mein at Noah's in vidor. I think Noah's sauce is tastier, but Ro's is thicker. Now, the fried catfish..... It was done very properly. Not over, not under. however, one small tiny problem.....No real flavor. For Great fried catfish, seek out the Hush Puppy, also in Vidor. Lastly, restaurant appearance leaves a lot to be desired. It feels dirty in there, sort of like the owner doesn't really care to invest much in making the place look nice or feel clean and...
Read moreCRAWFISH REVIEW ONLY I am a Louisiana Crawfish loving type of gal and can boil my own crawfish. Got lazy and paid for some already boiled from Ro's. The crawfish are a NICE SIZE....GREAT PRICE. Potatoes, corn, and sausage were DELICIOUS!!!
However, everything was smothered in garlic. There was sooo much garlic I was eating pieces of garlic with every bite. There is also some type of sweet taste lingering. This definitely was not boiled in crawfish, shrimp or crab boil. Total miss for me and my gals!!!
I put this review out because I read the reviews before making a last minute decision between purchasing here and Bud's. I won't purchase crawfish here anymore but will definitely be back to try the grill fish and...
Read moreSeriously, dont waste time and money. just moved here. Friends took me to lunch. Dark brunette girl took our order. They were out of lettuce and coleslaw, which came with order. Asked if i could get the corn and pot that came with crawfish or another substitution. She goes back and asks chef or owner or whomever, and they say ‘no substitutions’. So I order eggroll apps. They were the greasiest chunks of a waste of money. She had not even a glimmer of a happy personality or was even willing to satisfy customers, who are why they exist n the first place. So, upon trying new places in Lumberton, I will never eat there and i will tell everyone I know...
