Oriental Garden — Restaurant in Lyndhurst

This used to be one of if not the best Chinese food takeout spots around in the early 2000's. Id only order from there because I liked that the lomein was never greasy nor were any of the fried foods sopping with oil and the boneless and a bunch of other dishes were spot on, keyword; WERE! Now the place is pretty terrible. Not only is the food bad, but the staff has been rude to both myself and my husband on several occasions. The last, and final time that I ordered from there the sweet and sour chicken was so saturated with oil that I couldn't eat it and my husbands lomein had a pool of grease at the bottom of the container that was as deep as my pointer finer is thick, GROSS! We've had food delivered that took close to 1 hr and 1/2 to arrive only to find out that things are missing, wrong order or the food is barely warm at best, WEAK. When I called to ask about the order the woman on the phone had an extremely rude and aggressive tone, she told me that they were very, very busy and gave a phony apology before hanging up on me, NOT PROFESSIONAL. The owner these days seems not to be too concerned with the quality of food they're serving, customer service or cleanliness amongst other things. I know that Chinese food spots have a rep for not being the cleanest, but this one may take the cake. Ive used their bathroom on several occasions where there was neither tp nor soap and there was a foul order of raw sewage, DISGUSTING!!!! Doesn't seem like they clean the front of the restaurant and Im sure they don't clean the back either! Never once have seen a sani bucket at the stations in kitchen and Ive witnessed them handling raw proteins gloveless, wiping hands on shirt to "clean" and keep it moving, that's disturbing and very dangerous for the consumer. Clean up your act if you're going to serve food to the public. Im surprised the health dept hasn't shut you down yet! I will never eat your horrible food again and will spread the word to my family and friends to...

COVID AND GERM CENTRAL!!! I previously ordered from here and only had one issue of bad seafood 3yrs ago....tonight, I witnessed the hostess (person answering phones) walk into the kitchen, stick her hand in a white bucket and proceed to put fried wings into a bag. She placed that into the bag with the rest of the order and handed it to me. When I said,"Did you just touch my food with your hands?' she tried to deny then quickly decided she would tell me she would give me new wings. She walked into the kitchen again, stepped behind the side wall and crumpled the same bag of wings in her hands thinking I would hear the sound and believe she'd replaced them...not realizing I could see her reflection in the soda refrigerator. She looked me in my face and handed me the same wings. Instead of arguing I chose to leave and instead immediately reported them to the BBB, the CDC Covid line and left this review. If they are handling our food with their bare hands after touching the phone, the counter, and money,..what else are they touching and passing...

If you truly value a good customer service experience when choosing a place to eat, DO NOT give this place any business! I ordered last night about an hour before closing and when the delivery driver arrived at my complex he called me because he was confused on exactly where I was located. I could hear the frustration on his voice which quickly turned to anger and yelling because HE was confused. When I finally found him he continued yelling and told me I gave him the wrong address and demanded a tip. Unbeknownst to him, I put the tip on the card during the time I ordered (which he didn’t deserve hindsight). To make matters worse, he proceeded to tell me not to order from the establishment anymore…he doesn’t have to worry, I never will again, and neither should...
