It was both my fiancé and myself first time going that restaurant. We were both excited to finally going there. The previous resident or restaurant that use to there was our first date. Any way, when we were finished our food we paid our food and told my fiancé to put a tip for the waitress because she was awesome and nice. So my fiancé pay in his credit card both the food and the tip. After she back he sign and give her tip. We left the restaurant and waiting for our ride to take us home. While I was talk to fiancé I notice a guy pick our check and came outside and introduced himself the his named was Sean that he the owner And he ask use was the waitress costumer service was bad we said no then he ask us why the tip was so low because he put down $4. Both us look each other with questionable look. So he ask us you want it to be 18% right. My fiancé said sure. At that moment we felt like we being hustle for tip. At the he came outside I thought my fiancé forgot his credit card and came to return but not like that. But it also weird that Sean pick up the waitress check and tip that not even yours because your not waiter. Both my fiancé and myself vowed to never go there again. After that experience it was extremely uncomfortable. If anybody reading this don’t go there who want to go to restaurant when owners literally go outside when waiting for someone and ask you why you put low on tip and ask you put down 18% in the middle of the street. It incredibly uncomfortable it feels like you hustle for money that...
Read moreI was so excited to try the pizza. My husband called to order carry out, and we were told they weren't doing it that night. He asked multiple times why not. No explanation why. We found out later there was some act at the auditorium that night. At least say WHY you can't accommodate an order, as opposed to saying you just can't. Your website says you can order pickup or delivery.
EDIT: WOW. Definitely all set with this place. My husband called to place a carry out order, only to be treated poorly on the the phone, with no explanation as WHY they couldn't accommodate the order. Just "No." Here's the owner's response. Yikes! Not very professional.
"Little did you know, we also had a 290 person event off site the same night. To ensure we didn’t receive bad reviews or had any issues with carry out, that was another reason we did no take out for the evening. I guess we really cannot please everyone.
Please refrain from leaving reviews like this for another full service restaurants. It only hurts them in the long run. We aren’t a sub shop. It’s not strange that we decided to not do takeout on the busiest night of the week at full capacity."
Then just say so... It's not that hard. Bad customer service. And maybe don't offer pickup/delivery on your website? And if you can't honor that,...
Read moreThis might be my new favorite spot on the North Shore! Ciao has delicious and innovative takes on Italian plates, plus smooth and stunning drinks you can't put down. Our server was new, but she was doing great and was very helpful. The Ooo Bae is a rum drink featuring ube and topped with a photogenic flower arrangement, the Leonitus is a rum drink featuring guava, the Paradiso is a tequila drink featuring pineapple juice, and they all go down so, so easily. The Ooo Bae was perhaps the best, but it was a tough call! For apps we got the crocchetine and a special I cannot remember the name of, and both were great new takes on Italian fare — refreshing change from the usual suspects at every other Italian restaurant. The Calabria pizza was a delicious white pizza with sausage crumbles and caramelized onions. The pizza was perfectly sized for two to share. For dessert, the cannolis came with a trio featuring classic, chocolate chip, and pistachio. The cannolis were good, but not nearly to the level of everything else we enjoyed so much. Overall, best drinks in the area, hands down, and some...
