Guessing it was a busy Labor Day but when I was seated there was maybe 4 other tables seated in the entire restaurant & our entrees took over an hour to come out. My appetizer took 40 minutes. The workers were so friendly but were forced to work at the ramen restaurant next door and were running back & forth. They also had to take on serving, hosting, answering phones, etc. I understand restaurants are short handed but expecting your employees to run 2 restaurants & take on multiple positions is just irresponsible. There was not even a hiring sign up or any indication management was trying. There were however 3 giant flat screen TVs & a TV in each private room so clearly the owners have money to spend on that but not any to spend on it’s people. I shouldn’t have to wait an hour to get food if it the restaurant isn’t even packed. The food itself was horrible I had my beef chow fun sent back because the beef was nearly white & tasted nothing like beef. Super bland & greasy. Normally I wouldn’t say anything but after such a long wait I wasn’t going to pay for something I couldn’t even eat. Gave the money I would’ve spent on that to my server as tip because that’s who deserved it. Invest in your workers & your food so your customers can have...
Read moreGood Chinese food in the southwest burbs has been hard to come by, so I'm really excited to write this review. We ordered delivery, which arrived hot and fresh. Portions were good sized, and yes the price is a little higher than most places out here, but it proved well worth it!
We ordered the ribs (spicy and very tasty), the Shanghai chow mein thick noodles (hadn't had these before, and they were AWESOME, with tasty pork, mushrooms, and bok choy), la mom's dumplings (tasty, and delivered well–which is not always the case), West lake beef soup (one of my faves, and well executed. No peas, which didn't matter, just pointing it out), and the green bean & eggplant for a veggie (both were good, but especially the eggplant... Will do just that next time). Yes, we had leftovers. Even after I ate til it hurt.
This is all based off our first experience, but if the quality is consistent, we have found our 100% go to Chinese restaurant for any time we aren't making our monthly trip...
Read moreJust discovered Shang Noodle and so pleased to find a really excellent Chinese/Asian restaurant nearby! The food was high quality and absolutely delicious and the menu offered many unique and different options to try.
Our party of 4 had the Cumin Lamb, the Dry Sizzling Pot (w chicken), the Short Ribs (chef special) and the House Special Chow Mein. Each were really tasty, fresh, expertly cooked and nicely presented.
We also had two of the unique cocktails: the Ube Colada and the Lychee Martini - both really yummy!
We then had two of the desserts: the molten chocolate lava cake and the salted caramel cake, which were also fabulous.
The service was really friendly too, and when they discovered it was my husband's birthday, they brought out a 3rd dessert on the house!
The decor was modern and classy, the seating was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We'll...
