China Buffet — Restaurant in Macclenny

I enjoy leaving positive reviews much more than negative. But, I always check reviews prior to dining anywhere as I hate wasting money as much as the next person. We are OTR truck drivers and have dined at hundreds of establishments, good, bad, great and awful. So, when I say this place is horrible it is not an exaggeration. Even the low price of $18 was way too much to pay for the quality and selection of items. The chicken wings were undercooked, the boiled shrimp were slimy, the lo mein was dry and the rest was tasteless and/or inedible. We weren't told that they would be bringing out fresh made dinner items to replace most of the dried out half empty pans when we arrived at 2:45 pm, so being on a tight schedule we begrudgingly decided to eat what we could salvage. In hindsight...we should've just left. After taste testing several items that appeared edible we noticed they brought out fresh pans of food. As soon as I walked up to the buffet to try and see if it looked any more appetizing I was stopped by one of the servers and asked if I wanted lunch or dinner. I explained I believed we were eating lunch, she then proceeded to point to the old pans of food and said that's lunch there. She then pointed to the fresh food and said this is dinner you not eat that, you eat lunch over there. Well, I went back to explain to my husband and another waitress overheard our discussion. She came over and explained that we could have some of the fresh food but she'd charge us $4 more. By this time we had literally had enough and just paid the bill and left. We had a fifty/fifty shot at a decent meal according to the previous reviews. Well, we lost that bet and recommend that you pass up this place and...

I gave someone a ride to the business. When I walked in the front door, it smelled like a septic tank. After entering the business it still had a foul odor but not as strong as first entering the main outside door. There was a woman that met me at the front door as I was entering and I pointed to the restroom. I proceeded to the rest room. I came from the restroom to go outside due to the foul odor and the same lady kept her eyes glued to me as if I was a thief until I exited the business. Only 2 times have I ever been inside and the first time I went, the same lady stalked me so bad that I also exited the business after due to her staying that to me that the only way you get a bite of food in there is to pay full price of a meal because my son said Daddy taste this, a food item on his plate that he had already paid for. We used to go here all the time until my whole family got food poisoning. I ended up in the hospital. We were all sitting there eating when the toilets overflowed into the middle of the entire restaurant. Instead of closing they let everyone sit there and continue to eat! We called the health department but they said we couldn't prove that's how we got sick. I saw someone else mention the restaurant has a foul odor and smells of septic tank. It wouldn't surprise me if its their toilets/plumbing. Absolutely ridiculous. We haven't been back since. Also everytime we went the waitresses would glare at you and swoop in any time you would get up. Its not very inviting being watched every move you make.
