The only Chinese place around for miles, and I think they know it. Any plates with just veggies are fresh and tasty. If you want to get meat on the other hand, it has been much better elsewhere. The service is rude. If you have a problem with an order, forget about them putting the customer first. The last and final time we came to this restaurant for carry-out, I had a beef dish that made me gag with the first forkful. The meat tasted like it had been sitting out all day. We drove back to Hing Garden and let them know we thought the meat was bad. Instead of asking us if we wanted anything else or just giving us our money back, the lady behind the front desk scowled and became defensive, and insisted I was lying or being malicious, "I don't know why you say that! My meat is good!".
Knowing bad food happens, I threw her a bone, "It's okay. I've worked in restaurants before. It happens once in a while."
"I don't know why you say that meat is bad! I check the meat everyday!"
This went on for a few more minutes while other customers were gathering at the counter. I was being discreet and keeping my voice low, but the lady insisted on making a show and arguing instead of providing a solution for her customer. I eventually got to the point where I just wanted my money back and to leave and never come back again. It never had to get to this point. I would...
Read moreAbsolutely NOT worth it. The rice dinner combo was rancid, the egg roll would have been good except it was cooked in bad oil. The extra fried rice was flavorless and soggy and had nothing but rice and 2 bits of pork, not even any soy sauce, the fried dumplings were deep fried in bad oil some time ago, defrosted and nuked, not pan fried fresh, the veggies were flavorless except the broccoli, no sauce to speak of, and the beef and onions were bad aka old beef and only 2 pieces, except for a fresh pepper and onion. The chicken wings appetizer however was quite tasty. All in all, $62 plus a tip for take-out - Never again! Its all going in the trash except for the chicken wings. So disappointing! Im sure they only stay open because of the full bar and no other 'chinese' food within an hour and a half. Save yourself the money. The food is -i am so very sorry to...
Read moreFood was odd tasting vs. any restaurants I have tried. Fried rice was very dry. It was all like old leftovers in texture and taste. Asked for lo mein instead of rice. That was $7 more and it was more like cold spaghetti, no sauce no veg, Waitress asked her regulars as she called them how they were doing and if they were enjoying their meal. We did not rate this attention. One visit to out table to bring another soda to one person at the table who had as much in his glass as any of the rest of us. $100 with tip for 2 specials, 2 regular meals. No cars outside at lunchtime on Sunday should have been a sign. Don't waste your time if you are looking for Chinese cuisine here. Better off overall with a frozen meal from the...
