This is a lovely place to eat. My mother races about this place, but this was my first time there. We walked in and we're immediately greeted by two smiling waitresses. We were instructed to sit anywhere we liked, and within 30 seconds of sitting down, out waitress was taking our drink order. I just had water, but the glass was clean, the water was icy cold, and served with a straw. I ordered the spinach pie dinner, served with rice pilaf and soup or salad. I opted for the clam chowder. The clam chowder was hot, tasty, and served with a package of oyster crackers. It was delicious. A very thick and creamy consistency. Or had no indications of separation, which you often find in lesser homemade soups. I mentioned my high praise for the soup to our waitress, and she said her husband is there cook, and he takes great pride in his food. It really shows. The last time I had a good spinach pie, was years ago, from Emily's, in St. Claire Shores. This one was different in there was less lemon taste, and a lack of notable whole pine nuts. However, that in no way diminished the taste or quality of this pie. It was delectable! It has great taste, nice consistency, and a wonderfully lightly browned, very flaky crust. I will say I do prefer my own pilaf, but that's only because I put more personal additives in mine. For a general pilaf, to appeal to all, his pilaf was done excellently. Joe Jo's has my compliments, as well as my business the next time I'm up that way. Please try it! Today, June 15, i once again had lunch at Joe Jo's. Once again, I was not disappointed. I don't think it has changed one bit. They still have excellent tasting food, and very friendly waitresses. I had the turkey club wrap, which was not just wrapped but then grilled to give a semi crispy texture to the wrap. Very delightful. It also made the sandwich warm, which was good. However, if you're looking for a cold turkey wrap, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask them not to grill it. I again enjoyed their coleslaw, which was quite delicious. My drink was iced tea with lemon but no sugar. If I'm out that way, and I have my choice of where to go for lunch, this place is number one on my list..

10/14/22 - Came here once again, with my mother for lunch. Everything was joyfully, as usual. The place was busy, but not crowded. Our waitress, Angie, was attentive, courteous, efficient, and had her usual bright smile. This time I had the walleye, and my mom had the cherry chicken wrap. The fish was served deep fried, crispy, hot, and very tasty. It did not taste oily at all. Even later, i felt no I'll after effects one might get from great or oily food, when things are cooked improperly. The fries were just as tasty, and the cole slaw was creamy, but light. Not overpowering in any one ingredient I was also able to meet the head cook, Anton, and let him know how good his food was. Be it soups, chowder, salads, sandwiches, or entrees, i have yet to encounter any food that was not delicious. Hats off to Joe Jo's!!

Today, February 22, 2023, i went to Joe Jo's got a walleye dinner with my son. Last time i had the walleye dinner there, i had it deep fried, and it was delicious. This time i had it broiled. It was delicious once again. Of course their fries and Cole slaw were tasty as usual. I can honestly say, I've eaten there at least a half dozen times or more, and at a few different times if the day, with different personnel. I have never been disappointed. I still highly recommend Joe Jo's to anyone looking for a tasty meal, at a decent price, with a soft diner atmosphere, and friendly people. Five stars ring and...

Wasnt super busy and they were well staffed on a sunday afternoon. Sat down and got out drinks promptly, it went downhill after that. We noticed we had no silverware, which was okay because we haven't got our food yet. It took about twice the time as a did for everyone else to get their food as it did for us. By the time we got our food, the people that ordered the same time as us we're walking out the door.. my girlfriend and I met for lunch, I ordered a breakfast and my eggs we're still raw and gooey. My girlfriend's potato pancakes we're McDonald's hash browns with chives sprinkled on top which is not what the potato pancake is. We had no ketchup or condiments at our table while all the other tables had everything as I observed.

I left a 20% tip still but I feel like we should have gotten a complete refund because we weren't even able to eat at the restaurant we had to get carry-out boxes and go back to work where we still have no condiments and cannot eat together now because we work at separate places. It was just a really depressing experience and I had to microwave my eggs at work because they were that raw... had I not been extremely hungry I probably would have just thrown it away. I wont be returning as my experience here has always been semi-par. Not sure how this place has 4+ stars. Most likely because its backed up to the neighborhood full of middle aged/ senior citizen's and a trailer park across the street.

I've lived in Macomb for 25 years this is definitely not somewhere I would recommend going it was a disappointment the three times I...

Let me start by saying there are new owners here since February of 2021. 1st time coming to Joe Jo's this past Sunday and we were greeted fast and friendly and was seated. We went in for breakfast and the coffee was poured literally as soon as we sat down, and the refills came around everytime my cup was low. My wife and I both went with skillets and they were fantastic. My wife had a country skillet and I had the Joe Jo's skillet with my eggs over easy. It was perfect, as soon as I dug into the skillet the egg opened up and my meal was absolutely what I have been looking for. This skillet was the best one I have had in a long time. Better than any local dinners I have been too. I will most definitely come back and try something new. The menu has a wide variety of food so everyone has a pretty decent choice to choose from. The owner swung by our table to say high and had a very nice conversation with them. All around had a great experience, breakfast...

Hidden gem that you'll find in an unassuming plaza on Garfield and 21. Don't be deceived by the outside, this restaurant is great. The prices are out of this world and seem like they are from 5 years ago. The food is delicious, homemade and they give you plenty of it. They're well known for their homemade chicken pot pie, but we stopped for breakfast. They have daily specials from 8:00 to 11:00. I had two plates of food for $8. I highly recommend you make a point of stopping by and see what I'm raving about. You'll be glad you did.
