Our usual place is closed on Monday and after reading the reviews for Wing Wong, we decided to give them a try. Here's our order.
Almond Chicken. The chicken had some tender pieces and some really dry chewy pieces. Sauce could use more flavor. There were no almonds on top. Would rate it 8 out of 10.
Chicken Chop Suey. This was NOT a typical Chop Suey that we were used to but overall had a good flavor/sauce. Chicken and all veggies were very tender. There could have been more chicken and less veggies! The chicken chop suey I'm used to eating elsewhere is loaded with chicken and bean sprouts with not much else but, this one seemed to be lacking both. There was definitely more veggies than there was chicken. Veggies included (LARGE baby corn, water chestnuts, pea pods, bamboo shoots that looked like lo mien noodles, mushrooms, carrots, bok choy and of course very little bean sprouts). Would rate it 5 out of 10. Less veggies and more chicken!
Fried Rice (meatless).Again, not a typical fried rice I am used to eating. It was dark in color from too much soy sauce maybe and didn't seem to have the veggies and egg that I am normally see. There were a few bean sprouts and green onion. Rice large and tender. I would rate it 4 out of 10.
All had normal amount of food in containers that i would expect and prices were comparable to other Chinese businesses in the area. Overall It wasn't a horrible experience but we'll stick to China Chef and avoid Monday's! I would rate it 3 1/2 out of 5 to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGeneral Tao's chicken was pretty good. Rice was very good as well. I was surprised that the egg drop soup seemed almost as if water had been added to it in a very noticeable way. The consistency and flavor was extremely watery. There's also several black specs floating in the soup. They don't appear to have the same consistency as any pepper or spice I've ever seen and given the fact that there is almost no flavor whatsoever to the soup I seriously do not believe what I'm seeing is a component of the soup. I'm wondering if it's the coating from the pot or maybe remnants of old batches that are burnt to the bottom. It's very strange and unsettling. I can't say anything bad about the dinner combination but definitely stay away from the soup or at least give it a few months and hope that the owners read this and fix whatever's going on. I had to come back and edit this to add the sauce for the egg roll is clearly watered down as well. I hadn't had it before writing the beginning of this review. Somebody is obviously watering down anything they can at this restaurant. I complimented the food earlier but you have to wonder if they're that desperate to cut cost or increase revenue than what will they be willing to do with food that maybe expired or should be thrown out at the end of the night? I had three stars for my review but I'm changing it to two because there may be hope but somebody has to get control over whatever this shady business is...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreProbably some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had, it was barely edible.
No disprect to the works here- seriously -they are very kind. The guy behind the counter was very nice and patient. Unfortunately the food is just not good. The chicken is not crunchy as it usualy is with other Chinese restauraunts, the sauce doesn't have a good flavor, and even their 'mild' is much spicier than you'd like it to be.
The egg roll was pretty darn good, I'll give them that.
For the money, there are much better tasting Chinese restaurants close by. Unfortunately I won't...
