Really only giving 2 stars because the food was decent. However the portion sizes for the price were outrageous. Not having eaten here before, I assumed the pasta dish portions would be in line with basically every other Italian restaurant ever, where $10-$15 will buy you a heaping plate/bowl that the average person could probably eat only half of. In fact, my intention was exactly that - to split a pasta dish with my partner so that we each could try more of what the restaurant had to offer.

With this in mind, I ordered a full size order of the Spinach & Garlic Tortellini for $10.50. I preferred alfredo sauce, which costs an additional $0.75 on a full order, & I opted to add chicken for another $2.00. This means that, before tax, my meal cost $13.25. Not particularly outlandish for the meal I was expecting to get. However, after bringing the order home and discovering the shockingly scant amount of food, we phoned the restaurant & were informed that the full size order comes with NINE tortellini! The half portion is only FIVE! So, not even including the extra $2 for chicken, I basically paid $1.25 for each piece of tortellini. I may have a healthier appetite than some people, but I doubt anyone would be sufficiently satiated by that meal. (See attached photo - this was what was left after splitting with my partner as planned).

As I mentioned, the food was relatively good, but certainly not good enough to compensate for the disappointingly meager portions. I also was not impressed with the service. My partner and I ordered $40 worth of food to-go, and were handed 4 or 5 separate containers to manage on the ride home. We had to request a bag, which they did not even have, instead of the employees making sure carry-out orders are sufficiently packaged for transport.

Our waitress / host was polite but not knowledgable about the menu or policies. My boyfriend asked if any discounts for students and/or first responders were applicable. She fumbled her words a bit, asked to see his identifying student/first responder cards, and then tentatively said she "wasn't sure if they do," apologized, and then repeated the total. No effort to find out from a colleague or manager or even feign certainty & give a firm "yes" or "no." Just to be clear, this was not a trainee or relatively new employee - she told us herself that she had been with the restaurant for over a year.

Lastly, I was disappointed by the lack of accountability with regard to our expressed dissatisfaction. After leaving the restaurant & getting all the way home, we called immediately to clarify we did get exactly what we ordered, even though it was clearly NOT what we'd hoped or expected. I believe the employees could have done a better job in addressing our concerns such that they could maintain our business. A partial refund or possibly a complimentary entree upon our next visit would have gone a long way toward convincing us to give Gelsosomo's another try. But because we were basically told unapologetically 'that's the way it is,' we likely...

We have dined here many times, routinely a great experience. This was not one of them. After ordering, which we did right away, the 30 min mark i asked how much longer it would be. That waitress never returned to the table. The hostess brought the wrong food for one of us to the table. The appetizer that was supposed to be brought ended up being a kids chicken strip meal. When when she returned with another part of the order 5 min later I asked if this is what the appetizer looks like. She said she noticed they didn't have enough straps so they were making more. I again asked if this was the appetizer. With not a little bit of clear frustration she announced they were making more. I said that isn't the question.. she then said that what I received was the kids meal. These chicken strips were small, clearly pre-made and of poor quality, ntm overcooked.

When I asked for a box she brought the box and announced that because we seem to be in a hurry she had brought the check as well. Clearly signaling the end of our interaction.

This could very easily could have been a recovered moment with an apology or an update during the wait that they forgot or the order was misplaced or they were really busy with the 4 other parties in the store.

Instead, the waitress was not available to return to the table after my inquiry and the hostess felt she need to point out that I was in a hurry....

I should've known when we walked in and the sign said 'Seat yourself at a CLEAN table' something was amiss!! We sat for less than 5 minutes before the waitress came, friendly and phoney. After placing our order, WE had to ask for silverware and napkins to be brought to the table and she brought ONE UTENSIL AT A TIME...HOLDING THE HANDLE WITH HER FINGERS! Uh..sanitary... I think NOT! Ok who does that...like what restaraunts don't wrap the utensils in a napkin to be placed on the table....let me bring u back some straws for the drinks already on the table...? Second clue we should have walked was the salad...cut up lettuce in a bowl!!! I'm not a rabbit...like where's the cheese??? When a 2 year old won't even eat your spagetti...that says something! Was that Prego or Ragu sauce that was on top of the not home made tortellini? Toasted raviolis frozen from a box? If anything the pizza maybe gets a 5, the bottom of the crust was still too soft. Maybe if your a local and don't know what GOOD italian food is...this is your spot. Hey...the cherry coke was GREAT...definately recommend that!! My...

First time, looked packed, was promptly seated & advised of wait. Waitress was wonderful & answered some questions. Explained wait times due to short staff. I have waited alot longer before, this was no wait, this was average wait time I've had elsewhere, but they prepare you. Oh my the mozzarella sticks were delish & deep dish with the works ohhhhhhh my cheesy goodness. Great service! Wish we were closer to try other options. Thank you to your staff!!!

Great pizza and service! I sat at the bar and had a delicious WORKS pizza with a draft of a microbrewed beer. Pizza was served piping hot! Also ate a spinach salad that was good. Ambience was nice too. My only recommendation is to have the kitchen cook/chef invest in a bell to ring vs yelling out repeatedly someone’s name. Lol.
