I called in a 2 piece fish and fry plate for pick up on 1/23/24 around 4:10. The guy who took my order was very nice and pleasant. Nonetheless, it was the usual miserable, condescending younger lady, that never smile at the counter when I arrived. (The regular customers know exactly who I'm referring to). I asked her if the dock sauce was in the bag and the only reply I got was a non-verbal nod stating "yes". As I'm walking out and look in the bag, NO dock sauce! I immediately went back and told her and she said that it was underneath the fries. Those were actually hushpuppies. She checked herself. While she was checking, I told her there was no reason for me to lie about not getting it. If I wanted xtra sauce I would've paid for it like I normally do. She went to get the small cup of sauce and this is what this awful lady gave me. Only about a half teaspoon. It honestly looks like the cup was full and she emptied more than half of it out because she thought I was lying about not getting any at all. I wasnt going to argue w/ someone w/ zero morals. What she did was very obvious, not to mention, her actions were ungodly and foul. I didnt even get an apology when I told her that it was missing. She only said, "Let me see your bag". Like I was a thief! This lady's attitude alone is going to be the cause of this business's downfall. Why would anyone continue to support a business with terrible customer service? The customers didnt choose this job for you! Customers put money in the business pockets, you don't put money in ours. Without customers, there wouldn't be a Fish Port. Because of this type of foolishness, is why alot of (black- owned) businesses suffer. The dock sauce is good but they're treating it like it's gold! The food is good but who wants to deal with mean, unwelcoming employees with nasty attitudes while giving you their money? I'm not sure why the owner keeps this lady employed. I'm done with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDrove across town on my Lunch Break b/c some of my co-workers and I wanted a Super Dock Sandwich. I repeatedly said that one of the sandwiches needed to be plain with no sauce. When I received my order, the guy told me that the one with the toothpick was plain with no sauce. Got back to work and my sandwich was drowning with Sauce (Both sandwiches on the order). Called to report it. Spoke to a female who had a terrible attitude. She kept telling me that the one with the toothpick has no sauce and I am sitting here with this sandwich drowning in sauce. I told her that I didn't get off until 8:00 PM and could not come back over there until then. They close at 6:30 pm. She told me that the only way that they would know that it was filled with sauce is if I brought it back. So I asked if she wanted me to keep the sandwich until tomorrow to bring it back, she said yes. Can you imagine me keeping a fish sandwich overnight just to take it back to prove to them that their Customer Service is horrible. It was so much better when Mr. West owned the facility and ran the restaurant. I use to live right around the corner and patronized his business at least twice a week. Don't think that I will be returning while they have the employees that they currently have. The food does not taste as good as it use to anyway. I strongly suggest that if you are looking to eat fish, please take your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEons ago, when Jesus and I were babies, The Fish Port 2 was on Montpelier Avenue and a colleague and I used to visit often for the crispy, succulent fried whiting, coleslaw, hush puppies, cake, and their freaking amazing lemonade. There are so many memories of enjoying their food and service, and was the go-to place for my kids and me at least once monthly. The location became open sporadically then finally closed. Francar's was the next best thing and while we do enjoy Francar's, the pandemic has changed the way many small businesses operate, too often forced to close. This week I've felt so nostalgic about The Fish Port 2 and learned it had reopened in the Rocky Creek Plaza, located in the strip almost directly behind McDonalds. Oh happy day!!! I was laser focused on getting the whiting fried hard, a double order of hush puppies (no fries for me, the hush puppies are the perfect accompaniment, completely forgot about ordering coleslaw), and the decadent dipping sauce, unconcerned about cake or lemonade, LOL. The food was exactly as remembered, actually tasted even better than the memories because it's been so long since I've had The Fish Port 2's delicious fish, hush puppies, and kick-A sauce. I am so thankful that the quality remains excellent. The Plaza is returning to life with small businesses scattered throughout. Thank you all for...
